MGK Shows Off Triple-Digit Speed In Risky Behind-The-Wheel Post

Machine Gun Kelly sparked concern online after sharing a dangerous-looking moment from behind the wheel. The 35-year-old rapper, born Colson Baker, posted a blurred photo to Instagram on Thursday that appeared to show him driving at 123 miles per hour, with the speedometer visible to his more than nine million followers. While the image itself was out of focus, the triple-digit speed was unmistakable, quickly drawing attention from fans. Not long after, Machine Gun Kelly followed up with a black-and-white selfie that showed him smoking what appeared to be either a joint or a hand-rolled cigarette.

The eyebrow-raising snaps come as MGK is currently on a brief pause from touring. His “Lost Americana Tour” is set to resume internationally, with upcoming dates across North America, Europe, the U.K., and Australia. The new leg kicks off February 15 in Bologna, Italy, before returning to the U.S. on May 15 in Wheatland, California, and wrapping up July 1 in Ridgefield, Washington.

Despite the high-speed moment, MGK has recently been leaning into a softer side, especially when it comes to family. Amid his demanding tour schedule, the musician has made it clear that spending time with his daughters remains a priority. MGK shares his 16-year-old daughter, Casie Baker, with ex Emma Cannon, and welcomed his youngest daughter, Saga Blade Fox-Baker, 10 months ago, with Megan Fox.

In a recap montage posted to Instagram on January 26, MGK offered fans a behind-the-scenes look at “how we ended part 1 of the tour,” featuring clips from live performances, studio sessions, and moments offstage. The video ended on a rare and intimate family note, showing Casie helping baby Saga crawl onto a bed for tummy time. “I’m sad to go home,” MGK said in the video’s voiceover. “But am I though, because here’s my youngins. Let’s go!”

While MGK has been spotlighting family moments online, his relationship with Megan Fox has remained firmly in the past. The actress and MGK split in November 2024 after Fox, who was pregnant at the time, allegedly discovered he had been communicating with other women behind her back.

Since the breakup, speculation has swirled about a possible reconciliation, especially given the pair’s on-again, off-again history. But earlier this month, a source shut down those rumors, telling PEOPLE that the former couple’s dynamic is now strictly about raising their child together.

“[They] haven’t been together in a real way for a long time now, and whatever they had romantically is done,” the insider said. “Their relationship at this point is just about co-parenting. Megan is focused on her kids, the baby, and just getting settled into this new chapter. That’s genuinely her priority.”

Beyond the controversy and personal upheaval, MGK has been vocal about a noticeable shift in his creative outlook, one defined less by darkness and more by color, surprise, and fun. In a recent interview with Vogue, the rapper has explained that his latest singles and visually bold music videos reflect a conscious decision to move away from predictability.

“Well, look: I think the state of the world is really drab,” MGK said. “And with the trajectory of how my life started, and then where it went, climbing up and then crashing down, constant ebbs and flows, I have every right to match the drabness of the world. But I don’t like being predictable, or a stereotype.”

Instead, he said he wanted to challenge expectations and spark genuine reactions. “I wanted to create an art piece or, like, a mosaic of art pieces, the music videos, that would make people react, and react with surprise,” he explained. “I just think sad boy, broken boy… It’s all too obvious, and it’s too easy.”

That mindset, Kelly said, has brought him back to a sense of joy he feels is often overlooked, both in art and in life. “I realized my job is fun,” he shared. “And I realized that death is always lurking, and I don’t wanna have flashbacks and see a bunch of gray. I wanna see colors.”

For Kelly, embracing joy has become a form of rebellion in itself. “Joy is such a slept-on emotion,” he said. “It’s almost like you’re shamed for it, because everyone’s so serious and so critical… It’s like people forgot their sense of the most innocent point in a person’s life.”

He added that reclaiming imagination has been key to that transformation. “It’s actually sad that we forced the dogma of growing up on people, ’cause innocence and imagination are what leads to joy,” Kelly said. “And when you are so stuck trying to conform to societal norms, you lose your imagination. That comes from being 100% comfortable in yourself.”

As MGK balances headline-grabbing moments with fatherhood, the rapper seems determined to move forward on his own terms.
