Actor Mickey Rourke has been the topic of concern over the last few days. Reports recently surfaced revealing the actor was served with a notice to pay nearly $60,000 in back rent or be displaced from his Los Angeles home.

After the report, a GoFundMe fundraiser was created on Mickey Rourke’s behalf—something he’s since slammed as “embarrassing.” However, his manager recently put out a statement confirming that she, along with the rest of Rourke’s team, created the fundraiser and informed him of the decision before he condemned it online.

According to PEOPLE, Rourke was served a notice to pay $59,100 in back rent on his LA home on December 29, 2025.

The report states that Rourke’s landlord, Eric Goldie, served the actor the paperwork, instructing him to pay within three days or vacate the property.

The filing states that Rourke began renting the property in March 2025 with a monthly rent of $5,200. At a later point, the rent was increased to $7,000 a month.

In addition to the $59,100 in back rent, Goldie is requesting reimbursement for attorney fees.

After news of Rourke’s financial woes went viral, a GoFundMe fundraiser was created on his behalf. At the time of this publication, the fundraiser has raised over $101,000.

“This fundraiser is being created with Mickey’s full permission to help cover immediate housing-related expenses and prevent that from happening,” the fundraiser’s description reads. “Mickey Rourke is an icon—but his trajectory, as painful as it is, is also a deeply human one. It is the story of someone who gave everything to his work, took real risks, and paid real costs.”

Elsewhere on GoFundMe, the description said the goal of the crowdfunding campaign was to help the “Wrestler” actor get back on his feet.

“Any donation, no matter the size, will make a real difference. And if you’re not able to contribute, sharing this page is a huge help and deeply appreciated. Thank you so much for your kindness, compassion, and support,” it finished.

However, in a new Instagram video covered by The Blast, Rourke responded to the GoFundMe, explaining that he was “frustrated” and “confused” to learn he was the center of a fundraising effort.

“That’s not me, okay?” he said. “I’d rather, if I needed money, I wouldn’t ask for no f-cking charity. I’d rather stick a gun up my ass and pull the trigger.”

Rourke went on, explaining that he’s made poor decisions throughout his career, but even then, he’d “never ask strangers or fans or anybody for a nickel,” adding, “That’s not my style.”

“There’s only one person I can think of that would do such a thing, and I hope it’s not the person I’m thinking about. It’s humiliating,” he continued.

Rourke’s Manager Responds To His Comments, Says She Created The GoFundMe

Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Rourke’s manager, Kimberly Hines, clarified that she and other members of the actor’s team were responsible for creating the GoFundMe. Hines also claimed that Rourke was aware of the move before the fundraiser ever went live.

“We said, ‘Mickey, there’s some people that want to help you out.’ He’s like, ‘Okay, great.’ I don’t think he understood, and now it’s taken on this media frenzy, and he flipped out,” Hines said. “Nobody’s trying to grift Mickey,” Hines added, “I want him working. I don’t want him doing a GoFundMe.”

Since being served with the notice to pay, Hines has taken it upon herself to place the actor in a hotel while they work to get the GoFundMe money to him, since he doesn’t have an official bank account.

“We just wanted to get him out of there. He got to the hotel. We got the dogs out. We got him set up. We got what he needs for the next week. Then we organized movers. Then we got everything, all his clothing packed up. I rented a U-Haul,” Hines said.

Additionally, Hines shared that she had to work to get Rourke out of the Los Angeles property as quickly as possible because the residence was in such poor condition. The actor reportedly had “no running water” and “black mold,” and he had to leave most of his belongings because the “furniture is completely destroyed.”

Hines added a saddening statement, revealing, “Besides his assistant and his manager, he’s got nobody in his life.”

“He should probably take this help, because unless he goes back to work, I can only finance him for so long. I’m not a Getty. I’m a working woman.”
