Back in mid-September, news had come out that Mike Wolfe of American Pickers fame and his girlfriend, Leticia Cline, were in a vehicular collision. Since then, fans have been following updates from the two. Recently, Wolfe detailed how the incident had impacted him, just as he is set to share a new project with fans.
Mike Wolfe Shared What He’s ‘Learned’ Since The Accident
Viewers met Mike Wolfe and his LeClaire, Iowa, store, Antique Archaeology, through History’s American Pickers. On the show, he and a co-host would travel across the United States to find long-lost treasures and various antiques.
Wolfe is set to launch a new series, History’s Greatest Picks, on Sunday, February 22, 2026. Before this, he sat down to talk about a recent incident that greatly impacted him, as well as someone close to him.
As previously reported, Wolfe had been in a serious crash with his girlfriend, Leticia Cline, last fall. Speaking with People, he opened up about the incident and how it had changed him.
In particular, Wolfe shared that his perspective on time, and how precious it is, has changed. He noted, “I’ve learned that time is so precious and that none of us have a crystal ball. I mean, we’ve been also thrown into a system where we’ve been testifying in front of a court and [the other driver is] charged with vehicular assault. It’s just another level of life that we’ve walked through together.”
The American Pickers star admitted to playing what happened over and over again in his head. However, once that calms, he admitted, “There’s this elevated sense of perspective on what’s important and what’s not.”
Wolfe and Cline had previously shared that they were caught in a front-on collision in mid-September, while riding in a vintage car. Both were hospitalized.

Cline’s injuries included broken ribs, a collapsed lung, and a broken jaw. Wolfe had endured injuries to his knees and wrist, as well as a fractured nose.
Speaking with the outlet, Wolfe noted that the car didn’t have airbags. However, he shared that he did have seatbelts installed beforehand.

Wolfe expressed, “We are so lucky to be alive. But it’s something that’s ongoing… I mean, it was life-changing as far as how things can change in a moment and life is just so precious and short. We hear that, we talk about that, but to experience it, it was moving.” He also noted that Cline was initially hesitant about driving again following the incident, but is now “back at it.”
