Miley Cyrus Spotted Filming ‘Hannah Montana’ In Signature Blonde Wig

Miley Cyrus was recently spotted filming scenes for the upcoming “Hannah Montana: 20th Anniversary Special” in the fictional character’s signature blonde wig.

According to previous reports from The Blast, Miley Cyrus, in collaboration with Disney Channel, announced an upcoming TV special to celebrate the sitcom’s milestone, set to air in March 2026.

Cyrus and Disney are gearing up for the 20th anniversary special of the “Hannah Montana” series, according to The Blast.

Last week, Cyrus shared a teaser on Instagram of a decked-out convertible with a license plate reading “HM 20.”

“Going back to where it all began,” the post was captioned. “The Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special premieres March 24 on Disney+.”

Details of the upcoming special have been kept under wraps; however, Deuxmoi shared exclusive images of the “Best of Both Worlds” singer dressed as the fictional popstar, sporting the character’s signature blonde wig and fur top.

Additional behind-the-scenes images showed Cyrus sitting in another convertible, while videos showed the Disney legend conversing with what appeared to be crew members about the shoot.

The 20th anniversary special will be hosted by popular podcaster Alex Cooper, known for her hit show “Call Her Daddy.”

The program will feature “never-before-seen archival footage,” and will also transport viewers back to some of the program’s most iconic sets, including the Stewart family living room and Hannah’s closet.

Cyrus will also reportedly perform some of the character’s biggest hits, making the latest sighting all the more exciting for the Hannah fandom.

“That’s not Miley it’s Hannah Montana,” someone commented. “Hannah Montana sighting 😭😭😭 the world is healing,” another wrote.

The “Hannah Montana” 20th anniversary is understandably a big deal to some of Cyrus’ longtime fans, as they watched the character launch Cyrus into a global superstar who later released chart-topping singles and collaborations with the industry’s biggest stars.

Cyrus also acknowledged the role that “Hannah Montana” had in her success, saying the character “will always be a part of who I am.”

“What started as a TV show became a shared experience that shaped my life and the lives of so many fans, and I’ll always be thankful for that connection,” she added. “The fact that it still means so much to people all these years later is something I’m very proud of. This ‘Hannahversary’ is my way of celebrating and thanking the fans who’ve stood by me for 20 years.”

In a 2025 interview, Cyrus discussed the series’ legacy and addressed whether she believed the show could experience a revival, like other Disney series, including “That’s So Raven” and “Wizards of Waverly Place.”

“I don’t know if there is a new Hannah,” the 33-year-old said. “This is the only Hannah.”

Cyrus also got candid about what it feels like to watch the character grow with an audience who loved her so much.

“For me, I love looking back at the growth for both of us because it’s very rare that someone grows up with their fanbase,” she added. “When I was 15 years old, I’d look out and see 15-year-olds and now I’m a grown woman, I look out and see other grown people. So what I want to do is honor the longevity of the relationship that we built.”

According to a Disney press release, the show’s 20th anniversary special will air on Disney+ on March 24, 2026.
