The Montreal Alouettes have signed American offensive lineman Arlington Hambright and American defensive back Derrick Langford.
Hambright was selected in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL Draft, 226th overall, by the Chicago Bears. He dressed for nine games as a rookie, making one start at guard.
The six-foot-five, 300-pound blocker spent the 2021 season on the Bears’ practice roster. He was signed by the New England Patriots in 2022 but was released after training camp, joining the practice roster of the Indianapolis Colts and playing two games for the team in 2023. Hambright spent time on the Houston Texans’ practice squad in 2024 before playing four games with the Tennessee Titans. He has been a free agent since August 25, 2025, when he was waived by Tennessee.
The 30-year-old from Ypsilanti, Mich., concluded his collegiate career at the University of Colorado. He previously played for Oklahoma State University and Garden City Community College.
Langford has spent the past two seasons with the San Antonio Brahmas in the UFL. He appeared in seven total games, making 14 tackles. The 26-year-old played three preseason games with the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent in 2023, tallying eight tackles and two pass breakups.
The six-foot-three, 200-pound coverman attended Washington State University, where he played 39 games over four seasons. He was credited with 91 total tackles, one tackle for loss, three forced fumbles, 17 pass deflections, and four interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown.
The Montreal Alouettes finished second in the East Division standings in 2025 with a 10-8 record and beat the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the East Final before losing the 112th Grey Cup to the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Davis Alexander went 7-0 as a starter during the regular season, though he missed 11 games due to a hamstring injury.
The Alouettes ranked eighth in net offence, first in net defence, and third with a turnover differential of plus-eight. The club’s leading rusher was Stevie Scott III with 418 yards, the leading receiver was Tyler Snead with 1,129 yards, and the leading tackler was Darnell Sankey with 103 tackles. Montreal finished sixth in attendance with average crowds of 21,132, which was a 0.8 percent decrease from the previous year.
