People can be a bit dirty sometimes — it’s just a fact of life. So despite many people’s best efforts, their tech often gets dirty too. Take it from me, who handles the newest tech all the time for my job. Have you ever seen a display smartphone after the media has finished photographing it at the launch event? Not a pretty sight. And if that wasn’t bad enough, I’ve also got a toddler and words cannot begin to describe the level of mess that comes along with that.
Needless to say, I could use a bit of help keeping my tech clean. So when Canadian-founded Tech2Clean reached out to me about testing its all-purpose electronics cleaner, I was definitely intrigued. And so far, Tech2Clean has impressed me.
Tech2Clean boasts that its cleaning solution is free of alcohol, ammonia, hydrogen peroxide, and harsh chemicals, meaning it’s safe to use on a variety of devices and surfaces, including plastics, metals, glass, optics, cameras, and more. The solution is also antimicrobial, anti-static, eco-friendly, and leaves no residue, haze, or odour.
Alongside the main cleaning solution, which Tech2Clean sells in various quantities, it also offers several cleaning accessories, including cloths, wipes, brushes, and more. I tested out the main Tech2Clean cleaning solution and cloth, as well as the company’s camera cleaning kit with brushes and an air puffer.
Dirt that collected on the grip of my ROG Xbox Ally (left) was easy to remove with Tech2Clean (right).
The cleaning solution is definitely the star of the show, and it lived up to the company’s claims in my testing. It worked great for cleaning phones, laptops, keyboards, and even the Asus ROG Xbox Ally. My Xbox Ally had acquired some dirt in the fancy texturing on the handles, but a spritz of Tech2Clean and a quick rub with the cleaning cloth made short work of the gunk.
I was also very impressed with how well the solution worked on my phone screen. It cleaned up all the fingerprints and smudges easily, and left the screen looking great with no streaks or smudges. My only issue was with the spray bottle itself, which I found occasionally difficult to press. It seemed that when held at some angles, the button would catch when I tried to press it. It wasn’t a major issue, since adjusting the angle always fixed it.
The other accessories I got to try out were the ones included in the camera cleaning kit. That included a basic air puffer, functional but nothing groundbreaking. There were also two brushes, one of which is retractable and part of a lens cleaning pen — again, both were fine. There were also a few smaller cleaning cloths and a booklet of lens cleaning tissue paper. All of these are nice to have, but also were fairly basic cleaning tools you can get almost anywhere.
As I mentioned before, the cleaning solution is the real star here, and it works great. I’d highly recommend it to anyone for cleaning electronics, as it works super well for that.

Tech2Clean offers several quantities of cleaning solution in spray bottles, ranging from a 10ml bottle for $17 to a 500ml bottle for $65. Most of the bottles come with a microfibre cloth as well, though the $20 ‘Clean 2 Go’ eschews the separate cloth for a built-in microfibre finish on the bottle itself. I didn’t try one of these, but I like the idea of having your cloth and bottle in one package for travelling.
Some of the cleaning sprays are available at other retailers. I found some on Best Buy’s website, though notably, the products are sold and shipped by a third party called AccessoriesCanada. Tech2Clean’s website also notes that its products can be found at the Big Three carriers and their flanker brands, Walmart, Mobile Klinik, Henry’s, and London Drugs.
Tech2Clean also has three $60 kits, including the camera kit I tried, an airport travel kit with wipes and a phone holder, and a phone cleaning kit with some special brushes and silicon cleaning tools. All the kits come with a mini 30ml spray bottle. I think the kits are a bit pricey for what you get, but the cleaning solution itself is definitely worthwhile.
