Vance and Parker had a heated confrontation over Vance turning his back on the team. However, Vance revealed that the impression couldn’t be further from the truth. If anything, the Director was trying to save the team. Vance revealed that the CIS unit was in danger of getting shut down amid budget cuts.
But that wasn’t the biggest twist.

While Vance fought to keep the CIS unit open, the future of the unit was grim. The rumors that CIS was shutting down were wrong. The plan was to cut the entire NCIS unit and shut it down for good.

The NCIS spinoff NCIS: Tony & Ziva was canceled in December after one season. What about the flagship show? The episode ended with the NCIS unit still in danger. However, CBS has already renewed NCIS, the show, for Season 24.
Fans Share Disappointment In Another Unexpected Twist
The fate of the NCIS unit may be in jeopardy, but viewers were sorely disappointed by another unexpected twist in Episode 12. The show gave McGree a secret son he never knew about. Fans took to social media to share their frustration with the storyline.
- “I mean a main character finding their secret kid is such a cliche trope and I can’t believe they did it”
