Netflix has released the first trailer for the second season of Beef, giving audiences a new look at the next chapter of the anthology series created by Lee Sung Jin which you can see below!
Season two brings in a completely new cast and story. This time, the conflict centres on two couples whose lives become tangled after a single encounter.
The new season stars Oscar Isaac as country club manager Josh Martin and Carey Mulligan as his wife Lindsay Crane-Martin. Their story connects with newly engaged couple Ashley Miller and Austin Davis, played by Cailee Spaeny and Charles Melton.
As outlined by Netflix, the story begins with a moment that quickly spirals into something much bigger. Ashley and Austin both work at the same country club as Josh and Lindsay. After crossing paths with their boss and his wife, they become caught up in the tensions between the couple and their unravelling relationship. What starts as a small incident slowly grows into manipulation, pressure and power struggles within the club. With both couples desperately competing for the approval of the billionaire club owner Chairwoman Park played by Youn Yuh-jung.
Lee Sung Jin, who returns as creator and showrunner, has said this season explores a different type of conflict from the first. While season one focused on a very public feud between two strangers, the new story looks more at quieter anger and workplace tensions.
The cast also includes Song Kang-ho as Dr. Kim. Other cast members include Seoyeon Jang, William Fichtner, Mikaela Hoover and musician BM, who makes his acting debut in the series.
Season two will run for eight episodes, each around thirty minutes long. Lee Sung Jin returns as creator, showrunner and executive producer, with season one stars Steven Yeun and Ali Wong also serving as executive producers.
All eight episodes of Beef season two will premiere on Netflix on 16th April.
