In a recent Harper’s Bazaar interview, Kidman opened up about resilience and the lessons learned from navigating both success and heartbreak.

“As I get older, I want to be able to share and impart the things I’ve learned,” the “Babygirl” actress said. “I’ve seen a lot, I’ve experienced a lot, and I’ve survived a lot. I want to pass on some of that knowledge and that wisdom and whatever I’ve learned.”

When asked about the best part of aging, Kidman said it’s the “accumulated experience” that helps her face challenges with perspective.

“So you go, ‘Oh, I’ve been here before. I actually know how to handle this now,” Kidman explained. “Maybe I haven’t been in this place, but I’ve experienced something similar to this, and I do know that I will get through it.”

Kidman’s words to Harper’s Bazaar seemed to hint at how she feels amid her breakup with Urban and being able to survive the heartache.

“There’s something to knowing that no matter how painful, or how difficult, or how devastating something is, there is a way through. You’re going to have to feel it,” the actress noted. “You’re not going to be able to numb it. You are going to have to feel it, and it’s going to feel insurmountable at times.”

“You’re going to feel like you’re broken, but if you move gently and slowly—and it can take an enormous amount of time—it does pass,” she added.

Kidman also opened up about her relationship with aging, admitting that it’s something she feels deeply at times.

“Sometimes I feel like I’m really, really, really old because I’ve had so many life experiences,” the Oscar-winning actress shared. “And then other times I feel like I’m still a little girl, like suddenly I feel like I’m five. I think there’s a sense of play that always feels available to me…I love dancing, playing, and being silly.”

When asked what keeps her feeling energized and inspired, the “Aquaman” actress didn’t hesitate.

“Life. Connection. People. Sharing ideas. And just actually being alive, I’m grateful to have that,” she said. “I’m grateful to be a part of this world. I’m grateful to be surviving as a woman, as an actress, and as a producer, professionally and personally.”

Motherhood, she added, remains one of her deepest sources of purpose: “My children [give me the] purpose of being their protector and their guide, promising them that I’m here and that, no matter what, there’s always a safe place to grow up in.”

The interview follows news that Kidman filed for divorce from Urban last month, bringing an end to their 19-year marriage.

According to reports, the actress was “devastated” when Urban decided to call it quits and had made several efforts to repair the relationship before ultimately moving forward with the split.

Now, Kidman appears to be channeling her energy into her career and family. She was recently seen attending the Chanel show with her daughters.
