Ozempic Rumors Explode After Emmy Red Carpet Looks

The stars shone at this year’s Emmys, but many fans couldn’t help noticing something else glittering beneath the red-carpet gowns: dramatic weight-loss transformations.

Hollywood doctors say the secret behind the slimmer frames may not be new workout plans or diets, but a quiet wave of Ozempic use, fueling rumors, jokes, and even sagging surprises among A-listers.

Two plastic surgeons, Dr. Smita Ramandham of New Jersey and Dr. Raja Mohan of Texas, reviewed photos from the Peacock Theater and saw familiar patterns.

“In the past, there were celebrities that had these quick, dramatic weight changes… that you could clearly attribute to these weight loss drugs,” Dr. Ramandham explained to the Daily Mail.

“But now, there are a number of celebrities that are just a bit more… fit, and just a bit slimmer, than they were in the past,” she added. “For these stars, it is not a dramatic change, but it leaves you wondering whether the shift is due to Ozempic or something they have changed about their diet or exercise.”

Dr. Ramandham compared the look to what she’s seeing in her own practice, noting, “This is similar to what I’m seeing in my clinic now, that a lot of people are using these drugs for just those last five or 10 pounds that they can’t shift.”

Sweeney has been at the center of speculation after gaining 30 pounds for a role as boxing legend Christy Martin, only to reappear months later looking dramatically slimmer.

On the Emmys carpet, her toned look had experts buzzing.

Dr. Ramandham observed, “I think anything that involves rapid weight loss these days typically will involve some sort of GLP1 medication, whether it’s for the entire weight loss or for some of it.”

“She definitely looks great and more toned in her current photos,” she added.

Sources close to Sweeney, however, categorically denied she has ever used Ozempic, telling the Daily Mail such rumors were untrue.

Selena Gomez also reignited whispers when she appeared noticeably slimmer.

Surgeons pointed to her leaner shoulders and arms, noting she looked significantly trimmer than in earlier appearances.

Dr. Ramandham agreed she may have been helped by medication, though Gomez herself has spoken about struggles with weight linked to her lupus treatments.

“It has stung whenever people have called me large,” the singer recently admitted.

Actor Walton Goggins, usually lean, showed up at the Emmys looking even more chiseled.

“Even Walton may be on Ozempic, I think,” Dr. Ramandham remarked. “He is looking even more chiseled and a little more slimmer than he did before. This could be Ozempic or it could be a change in his lifestyle. I’m just not quite sure.”

Few transformations compare to Kathy Bates, who shed more than 100 pounds over several years.

The actress revealed diet and exercise were key, but admitted Ozempic helped her shed the final stubborn pounds.

“People say, ‘Well, it was the Ozempic,’ F-ck you, it was the Ozempic! It took me years to do this,” she told Variety.

Dr. Mohan noted the dramatic results come with a cost, stating, “Kathy Bates’ weight loss has been really significant… and mainly we are now seeing skin laxity [sagging] due to this.”

Jennifer Coolidge, meanwhile, leaned into the moment by joking on stage about her “prescription not working.”

Dr. Mohan admitted her joke made him suspicious. However, Dr. Ramandham wasn’t certain, but added, “Her shoulders do look pretty slim and her upper arms do seem slimmer.”

“Wednesday” star Jenna Ortega, already known for her petite frame, appeared even more defined.

Dr. Ramandham noted, “You can really see a change in her face, she is much more defined… this falls into the same category that I am seeing with my patients.”

Cate Blanchett, in a striking velvet pantsuit, also looked slimmer.

“These are not dramatic changes, but they could certainly have had a little boost from Ozempic,” Dr. Ramandham suggested.

Catherine O’Hara, too, displayed a noticeably leaner frame.

“She fits the pattern with other celebrities, everyone seems a little bit more fit and toned and slimmer. But no one necessarily looks unhealthy,” Dr. Ramandham explained.

Whether they admit it or not, the Ozempic conversation is unavoidable in Hollywood.

Some stars joke, others deny, and a few, like Kathy Bates, confirm the drug’s role in their journeys.

However, as doctors point out, the subtle changes are becoming just as noticeable as the dramatic ones.
