Manchester City took a huge step towards the top of the Premier League table after their win over Newcastle on Saturday night, with Arsenal set to face Tottenham later on this afternoon.

But that was not the only game on Sunday’s schedule, with three other matches underway in the early slot.

In the Midlands, Nottingham Forest welcomed Liverpool to the City Ground, with Vitor Pereira’s men coming off the back of a huge 3-0 win over Fenerbahce in the Europa League.

And they put in another good performance against the reigning champions, but were undone by a late Alexis Mac Allister goal to bring them back down to reality in the relegation battle.

Elsewhere, struggling Crystal Palace hosted bottom-of-the-pile Wolves, and Fulham travelled to Sunderland.

Catch up with the best of the action from both of those games ahead of the North London derby.

    Crystal Palace 1-0 Wolves

Crystal Palace left it late to beat Wolves 1-0 at Selhurst Park, with Evann Guessand’s stoppage-time goal settling a tense and scrappy contest.

Wolves arguably had the clearest opportunity of the first half when they were awarded a penalty after Adam Wharton brought down Mane inside the area.

Tolu Arokodare stepped up, yet Dean Henderson guessed correctly and saved low to his left.

Palace’s best openings fell to Yeremi Pino. The winger first dragged a chip narrowly wide after a defensive mistake, then struck the post from a clever corner routine, while Jean-Ricner Bellegarde and Arokodare both tested Henderson at the other end.

The game shifted after the hour. Ladislav Krejci received two bookings within minutes, the second for kicking the ball away, reducing Wolves to ten men.

Palace began to dominate after that, pinning the visitors back. Glasner introduced additional attacking options, including Guessand, to try and win the game.

The breakthrough finally came in the 90th minute. Tyrick Mitchell found space on the left and delivered a low cross into the box. Guessand timed his run, guiding the ball past Jose Sa to make it 1-0 and spark relief around the stadium.

    Sunderland 1-3 Fulham

    Harry Wilson

Fulham produced a clinical second-half display to beat Sunderland 3-1 at the Stadium of Light, with Raul Jimenez’s brace and a late Alex Iwobi strike securing the points.

A scrappy first half was dominated by injuries and stoppages rather than chances. Sunderland lost both Nordi Mukiele and debutant Ta Bi early, while Fulham also saw Kevin forced off before the interval.

Chances were limited, although Romaine Mundle dragged a good opportunity wide.

The game changed quickly after the restart. Sunderland almost struck first when Mundle ran clean through but side-footed wide.

Moments later Fulham punished them. In the 54th minute Iwobi’s corner found Jimenez unmarked, and the striker powered a header into the top corner.

Fulham doubled their lead seven minutes later when a VAR review awarded a penalty for a shirt pull on Calvin Bassey, and Jimenez converted.

Sunderland responded, though. Trai Hume’s persistence led to a penalty of their own after Ballard was dragged down, and Enzo Le Fee blasted the spot-kick home to reduce the deficit to 2-1.

The hosts pressed for an equaliser, but Fulham remained dangerous on the break.

They scored their third goal in the 85th minute, as Harry Wilson carried the ball forward and slipped a perfectly timed pass behind the defence for Iwobi, who lifted a composed finish over Leno.
