Paula Deen has lived with the trauma of being robbed at gunpoint, but now, the person who did this to her is no longer. They have been found dead, but when did this happen, and how did they die? Finally, did Paula share a reaction to the passing? Keep reading for more details.
Paula Deen Gunpoint Robber Found Dead
For years, fans have followed Paula Deen as she is and was known as an incredible cook. She guided viewers through various recipes and helped them prepare meals at home for themselves and their families. Unfortunately, she was canceled and faced immense backlash in 2013 for using “racially charged language.” It took her quite some time and a stint on Dancing With the Stars to get people back in her corner. Moreover, she dropped an immense amount of weight and transformed herself. Now, she has a handful of ventures and seems to be back on people’s radar.
However, one tragic story from her past was when she was robbed at gunpoint. The year was 1987 in New York City. At the time, the Albany, Georgia native was just forty years old. Paula was a bank teller when she was robbed by Eugene Thomas King Jr. He put a gun to her head and was later convicted of the crime. After the conviction, nothing came out regarding him until now. On Thursday, February 26th, authorities responded to an evening 911 call. That was when they found a deceased Eugene Thomas King Jr.
As of now, the cause of his death is unknown. However, once it comes to light, it will likely be revealed. Allegedly, Paula Deen maintained that the only time she had used a racial slur was during that bank robbery. She spoke out in an interview regarding what she had said and made this clear.
No Mercy
Despite Paula Deen trying to explain what led her to use a racial slur, those who saw the interview showed no mercy. She spoke out on the Today Show in 2013, trying to make sense of it all. However, no one could see the justification, robbery or not:
- She still a r@cist old lady
- Nope. No excuse. I’m more southern than Paula Deen. Back in my day, the fastest way to prove that you were raised with zero class & in a home on wheels was to say it. Everybody else knew better.
- As far as Paula Deen is concerned. She racist and the way the word came out her mouth so easy says it all .
Some followers were still big fans of her cooking and suggested meals that they wanted her to cook. Hopefully, this can help her put the robbery further in the rear-view mirror.
