Veteran CFL quarterback Chris Streveler took to social media to provide an update on his recovery after undergoing surgery on his left ACL.

The 31-year-old passer is approximately six weeks removed from his operation. The video update starts with footage of the incision healing, then shows him doing some simple seated leg raises and squats in what appears to be an office. Streveler then is shown in the gym doing more rigorous exercises, including lunges, pushups, leg presses, and sled work.

The Naperville, Ill. native suffered a torn ACL near the end of the 2025 regular-season, marking the second-straight year in which he suffered that injury. Shortly after Winnipeg’s playoff loss to the Montreal Alouettes, he told 3DownNation that he needed surgery on his ACL and meniscus, calling the development “heartbreaking.”

Streveler tore his ACL, MCL, and partially tore his PCL during the Banjo Bowl in 2024. He finished his rehabilitation ahead of schedule and was ready for training camp in the spring, even starting Winnipeg’s regular-season opener against the B.C. Lions with Zach Collaros out due to a suspension.

During locker room clean-out day in November, Streveler indicated that he was unsure about whether or not he would continue his playing career. This week, he declined to confirm one way or another to 3DownNation through a team spokesperson.

“Second time around with this rehab, it ain’t easy but I’m attacking every day!” Streveler wrote in the caption. “So thankful to be off crutches finally and back in the gym. The mindset doesn’t change, one day at a time, consistent effort and attitude! Maximize each day, recharge, reload and get back after it. The best is yet to come!”

The six-foot-two, 220-pound passer threw for 1,103 yards, six touchdowns, and 11 interceptions, and rushed 68 times for 301 yards and nine scores over 18 regular-season games in 2025, going 4-1 as a starter.

Over 66 career regular-season CFL games, Streveler has thrown for 4,144 yards, 26 touchdowns, and 31 interceptions, and rushed 359 times for 1,740 yards and 41 scores.

The veteran quarterback is scheduled to become a free agent in February. Winnipeg has five quarterbacks under contract for 2026, including Zach Collaros, Terry Wilson, Chase Artopoeus, Bryce Perkins, and Payton Thorne.
