Meghan Markle launched a lifestyle brand in connection with her Netflix series after leaving the Royal Family. A podcaster claimed that the brand’s products made them sick. Keep reading for all the details on the situation.
Meghan Markle Returns To Acting After Leaving Royal Family
Before she met Prince Harry, Meghan Markle made a name for herself as an actress. She starred in the hit show Suits for seven seasons. She wasn’t involved in the 2025 reboot that was canceled after just one season. After leaving the Royal Family and moving to Montecito, California, the couple signed a multi-year deal with Netflix.
Meghan Markle went solo for With Love, Meghan, which gave viewers a glimpse at her everyday life. The show’s second season premiered this summer. Netflix hasn’t renewed it for a third season but she has a holiday special coming to the streaming service in December.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped back from their royal duties in 2020. While they retain their Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles, they can’t use the “Her Royal Highness” (HRH) on any branding, etc.
Seven years after leaving Suits and marrying into the Royal Family, Meghan Markle is finally returning to acting. She reportedly has a small role in the upcoming film Close Personal Friends alongside Lily Collins and Brie Larson.
It’s a good idea to have a backup plan if her lifestyle brand doesn’t work out.
Podcaster Claims Meghan Markle’s Lifestyle Line Made Them Sick
Meghan Markle launched a lifestyle brand under the name “American Rivera Orchid” in 2024. The brand was renamed “As Ever” and relaunched in early 2025. The former royal released a new line of holiday-themed products, including orange marmalade, raspberry spread, strawberry spread, flower sprinkles, and a scented candle that sells for $64.

Podcaster Link Lauren ordered some of the products to review on his Spot On show and he wasn’t impressed. First, the packaging seemed “cheap” for a former royal. “I thought when I got the holiday trio of spreads they were going to come in a nice little package; they were basically thrown in a box,” the podcaster said.
One of the first products he tried was the orange marmalade spread. “It smells really bad. I feel like I’m on ‘Fear Factor,’” he said. Link Lauren added, “I literally feel my throat closing. Oh my God. Orange marmalade tastes like crap. I actually feel sick. I actually feel sick. That’s really not good. That’s not good.”

But the true insult came with the pricey expensive candle. The No. 84: Water Lotus, Sandalwood, and California Poppy” candle is supposed to smell like Meghan Markle’s home in California. But the podcaster wouldn’t know. When he opened the package, the candle didn’t have a wick to light.
The podcaster vented, “This is like Meghan Markle’s career… failure to launch! I literally want a refund. Meghan Markle, send me a frickin’ refund. I paid $64 for a candle you can’t light.”
The scathing review cautioned fans to be careful when purchasing from Meghan Markle’s lifestyle brand. Tell us in the comments if you’ve bought anything from As Ever.
