Next week will be Pokémon’s 30th anniversary (geeze, I’m old), and in celebration, the Pokémon Company will host a 25-minute Pokémon Presents on Feb. 27 at 9 a.m. ET. However, ahead of the presentation, Pokémon has announced the return of the games FireRed and LeafGreen, releasing on Feb. 27, following the presentation.
Pokémon FireRed and Pokémon LeafGreen will only be available as a digital purchase, and you need at least 40MB to download. The games will also have local wireless support with the Pokémon Wireless Club, with battle and trade support.
Pokémon FireRed and Pokémon LeafGreen each cost C$29.99.

It’s unclear if Pokémon Home support will be available. There was a note about Pokémon Home, but it was removed, so we’re still waiting to learn more about that.
As for the Pokémon Presents, rumours indicate the Pokémon Company will announce Generation 10, Pokémon Wind and Pokémon Waves, which are reportedly based on Indonesia. If you thought Gen 3 had too much water, good luck with these games.
We also expect to learn about Pokémon Champions, a mobile game that the company announced last year.
After 30 years of love for this series, I’m looking forward to the upcoming titles and this presentation. I might finally have a reason to buy the Switch 2.
