The Today Show is turning over a new leaf. Two popular co-hosts from the NBC morning program announced their unexpected, surprise departure. Keep reading to find out what’s going on at the talk show.
Popular Today Hosts Announce Surprise Departure
CBS News isn’t the only station undergoing massive changes. Multiple anchors have left CBS after a merger between Paramount Global and Skydance Media. Now, two Today hosts announced their surprise departure from the New York City morning program.
Sheinelle Jones only officially took over as co-host of the Today Show‘s fourth hour in January, but she’s already on her way out. And she’s not leaving alone. Jenna Bush Hager is joining her for an unexpected departure.
The popular hosts are leaving New York City behind to take their talk show on the road. The pair announced on the February 25th episode that they’re taking a girls trip together. The hosts and Today Show crew are heading to Jamaica. They celebrated the news with cocktails, which Jenna Bush Hager joked tasted like sunscreen.
“We’re relaxing on the beach, we’re doing some shopping, we’re meeting some local celebrities, and crossing the entire island to see all the fun, warmth, culture, and beauty of Jamaica,” Jenna Bush Hager told viewers about the upcoming trip.

Sheinelle Jones added, “It only gets better because we are also going to be kicking back and relaxing by the pool at the all-inclusive, adults-only, Sandals Dunn’s River Resort in Ocho Rios.” Then the two shared the biggest news of all: One lucky fan can join them on the adventure.
How Lucky Fans Can Join Them
Sheinelle Jones revealed the exciting contest to open to viewers. “We are going to bring along a lucky fan and their guest — probably you — to come see the show and stay five days and four nights at the resort. You can bring your partner, your best friend, your mom, your daughter, whatever. We just want to see you there,” she said. The fan contest is sponsored by Jamaican Tourist Board and Sandals Resorts.
Jenna Bush Hager went on to explain how to enter the contest. She encouraged fans to submit their most fun-filled and creative videos that explain why they should join the trip. Videos must be submitted on the show’s website and be 60 seconds or less.
According to the official rules, the contestant is open to U.S. residents over the age of 21. Unfortunately, residents of Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, Guam, and other U.S. territories aren’t eligible. Videos must be submitted by March 9, 2026. The Today hosts didn’t reveal the dates of the girls trip.
This isn’t the Today Show‘s first road trip. Jenna Bush Hager and Hoda Kotb went to New Orleans in 2024. They also went to Bermuda last year for Mother’s Day. Good luck to any Today fans submitting an entry into the contest! Come back to TV Shows Ace for more news on your favorite television shows.
