President Donald Trump recently had big news to share with his family. Since then, he has opened up about having too much star power in a family. In particular, he mused about whether there was room for more than one “star.”
The President Recently Spoke At A Meeting In Washington, D.C.
President Donald Trump currently serves as the 47th president of the United States. He was previously the 45th president from 2017 to 2021.
Recently, Trump spoke during a meeting of his new Board of Peace in Washington, D.C. During the meeting, he made a few statements concerning news in his family.
First Lady Melania Trump had been the subject of a documentary, Melania. The film covered the 20 days leading up to her husband’s 2025 presidential inauguration.
During his recent meeting, the president shared, “Can you believe this? Big movie star, and I always say it’s trouble, because I always say there’s not room in one family for two stars.”
As noted by Entertainment Weekly, citing multiple outlets, Trump reemphasized that last line. He continued, “I told her that we can’t have two stars in one family, so I don’t know what that means. But it’s not good.”
The Melania Doc Was Previously Released To Theaters On January 30
Trump himself is no stranger to movies. Some films he’s appeared in over the years include Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, Zoolander, and Two Weeks Notice, in addition to appearing in his wife’s documentary. He also has appeared on various television shows, including The Nanny and Days of Our Lives, in addition to hosting his own reality series, The Apprentice, from 2004 to 2015.
Reportedly, Amazon MGM Studios spent $75 million on the project, from acquiring to marketing it. The doc was then released in theaters on January 30.

Earlier during the meeting, the president had shared that Melania “has a very successful movie out right now, like number one.” However, the outlet disputed this claim.
The doc did have a bigger opening than expected, finishing second at the box office during its first weekend. However, numbers fell 67% during the second weekend.
Over President’s Day weekend, it sat in the number 15 spot at the U.S. box office. It was also shared that the top spot went to Emerald Fennell’s Wuthering Heights.
Critically, it also noted that there was some dissonance with how people received the doc. Melania was said to have an 11% rating from critics, but a 98% rating from moviegoers, according to Rotten Tomatoes.
Born in Yugoslavia, in what is now considered Slovenia, Melania married Donald Trump on January 22, 2005, in Palm Beach, Florida. She is notably the first naturalized citizen and non-native English speaker to become First Lady. She is also the second foreign-born, after the London-born Louisa Adams.
