Film director Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were murdered over the weekend. They were found dead at home in Brentwood, California, on Sunday, December 14. President Trump blamed the stabbing on TDS. Keep reading for the latest on the shocking murders.

Rob Reiner’s Son In Custody After Stabbing

Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were found dead with apparent stab wounds. According to TMZ, their throats were slit during an argument with a family member. Hours after the bodies were discovered, the couple’s son, Nick, 32, was arrested and held without bail.

A new report claims that Rob Reiner was arguing with his son at Conan O’Brien’s holiday party the night before the alleged killings. “Nick was freaking everyone out, acting crazy, kept asking people if they were famous,” one guest told PEOPLE magazine.

President Trump Blames Film Director’s Murder On TDS

The murder of the famous director and his producer wife sent shockwaves through the country. Rob Reiner’s film credentials are long and include hit movies like Stand By Me and Misery. The tributes rolled in from not only people who worked with him, but also from his close friends. But one person didn’t mourn the loss at all.

President Trump wasn’t a fan of Rob Reiner’s movies or his political beliefs. The filmmaker was an outspoken Liberal who spent his time and money raising awareness for the LGBTQ community and other important issues.

In a shocking social media post, Trump blamed Rob Reiner’s death on his political stance. The President wrote that the murder was “due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS.”

Republican supporters coined the term for anyone who criticizes President Trump and his policies. Trump himself assigns the term to anyone who doesn’t support him. He received a lot of backlash for his response to Rob Reiner’s death.

However, he later doubled down on the comments, saying he “wasn’t a fan” of the director after questions from reporters. “The Russia hoax, he was one of the people behind it. I think he hurt himself career-wise; he became like a deranged person—Trump Derangement Syndrome—so I was not a fan of Rob Reiner at all in any way, shape, or form. I thought he was very bad for our country,” President Trump said.

    Rob Reiner’s Thoughts On Trump

Rob Reiner’s film LBJ about President Lyndon B. Johnson came out in 2017. When asked by Variety to compare LBJ to President Trump, the film director did not hold back. “Donald Trump is the single most unqualified human being to ever assume the presidency of the United States. He is mentally unfit. Not only does he not understand how government works, he has no interest in trying to find out how it works,” he said at the time.

His criticism of President Trump continued during his second term in office. However, even many conservatives spoke out against Trump’s comments after Rob Reiner’s death. Tell us what you think in the comments.
