President Donald Trump Was Told About Chuck Norris’ Passing While Boarding Air Force One
Norris was known for a number of films, including Missing in Action, Code of Silence, and Delta Force, as well as the series Walker, Texas Ranger. A decorated martial artist, he won numerous championships and even trained various celebrities.
Shortly after his 86th birthday, reports came out that Norris was rushed to a hospital in Hawaii after a medical emergency. Tragically, his family announced his passing on March 19.
As noted by The U.S. Express, after the news of Norris’ passing, various figures, including Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Sylvester Stallone, paid their condolences to the star. President Donald Trump would speak about Norris around six hours after the news came out. Reportedly, this was after journalists informed him of Norris’ passing while he was boarding Air Force One outside of the White House.
Norris Had Written An Op-Ed In 2016 Where He Described Trump
Upon hearing of the actor’s death, Trump shared, “Wow… Chuck Norris… he was a great guy. He was a really good tough cookie.”
Cracking a bit of a joke, the president continued, “You didn’t want to fight him. I can tell you. He was a tough, great guy. He was a great supporter.”

As noted by the outlet, Trump also shared, “That’s too bad.” Following this, he also offered his “highest respects” to Norris’ family.
In the past, Norris had expressed his support for Trump. He particularly praised Trump in a 2016 op-ed, “The People Have Spoken,” for World Net Daily. At the time, Norris claimed to have only met Trump once, decades prior, but described him as “friendly and sincere.”
The actor also called on Republicans to come together, even asking independents and Reagan-era Democrats to help “Make America Great Again.”

In the family’s statement announcing Norris’ death, they assured fans that the star “was surrounded by his family and was at peace.” However, it was noted that they “would like to keep the circumstances private.”
The family also shared kind words for fans: “The love and support he received from fans around the world meant so much to him, and our family is truly thankful for it. To him, you were not just fans, you were his friends.”
