Following the trend of similar companies, Public Mobile is also increasing prices for customers on some plans.
According to a post on the Public Mobile subreddit, a customer received a text notice regarding an increase to their plan:
“Public Mobile here with an important update. Starting April 1, 2026, your monthly plan will increase by $4 per month, going fro $20 to $24 on your next renewal. But wait, there’s a silver lining. You can switch to a plan with more data for $24. Log in to your account online or the Public Mobile app to view available options.”
In another thread, customers noted that they received a similar message about their $23 plan, with a $2 increase to $25.
By the looks of it, Public appears to be pushing customers above the $20 mark, with several people noting that sub-$20 plans have vanished from Public’s website.
Currently, Public’s cheapest plan costs $20/mo for 500MB of 4G data, then climbs to $23/2GB and $26/5GB.
