Queen Latifah Is Nearly Unrecognizable As She Flaunts Slimmer Figure

Queen Latifah recently showcased a notable weight loss during a Disneyland outing with longtime partner Eboni Nichols.

The Oscar-nominated actress has focused on health and wellness, serving as a spokesperson for WeightWatchers’ menopause program and advocating body positivity.

Throughout her career, Queen Latifah has resisted Hollywood pressures to lose weight, championing self-love and strength for women of all sizes.

Latifah turned heads during a recent outing to Disneyland, showing off a striking weight loss while enjoying the theme park with her partner, Nichols.

The 55-year-old Oscar-nominated actress opted for a relaxed all-black look, pairing a hoodie and joggers with hoop earrings and a baseball cap.

She appeared cheerful throughout the day, laughing and smiling as she navigated the crowds, holding a water bottle and hopping on rides like Space Mountain and the Matterhorn Bobsleds.

Latifah and Nichols, who have kept their relationship largely private, were accompanied by family and friends, blending seamlessly with other visitors despite their celebrity status.

The star’s slimmer appearance has drawn attention, reflecting her focus on health and wellness in recent years.

As a spokesperson for WeightWatchers’ menopause program, the “Taxi” actress has been candid about the changes she has experienced during this stage of life.

“Menopause has been a new journey for me – one that’s changed how I see and care for my body,” she shared. “It’s shown me how important it is for women to have support that truly understands this stage of life. That’s why I’m proud to be the spokesperson for WeightWatchers’ new program.”

Latifah added, “For decades, WeightWatchers has helped women live healthier, more confident lives, and now they’re once again leading the way with care designed for menopause.”

Throughout her career, Latifah has emphasized that overall wellness, strength, and longevity are more important than a specific number on the scale.

She has also been a long-standing advocate for body positivity, openly discussing her experiences as a plus-size woman in Hollywood.

In a 2021 interview, she revealed that she had faced pressure to lose weight for roles but refused to yield.

“I’ve literally been asked to lose weight, through my people, the word came,” she said, per the Daily Mail. “Luckily, I have people who are like, ‘Yeah, that’s not going to happen. She’s not losing weight for you.'”

The “Beauty Shop” actress has consistently served as an inspiration for larger women, using her platform to challenge unrealistic beauty standards.

“It made me angry because I felt like I was fine. I’m what people look like,” she recalled. “You want me to lose weight? Why? So there’s a whole bunch of women out there who won’t have someone to relate to on TV, is that what you’re trying to get at?”

She added, “Honestly, I knew by standing up, I was actually standing up for some other people.”

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Latifah discussed being pressured to slim down while starring on the Fox sitcom “Living Single,” where she played Khadijah James from 1993 to 1998.

Despite industry expectations, she resisted: “Here we are, four different women, four different body types, and we needed to lose weight. If anything, it angered me and disheartened me, but it really angered me. I said, ‘We are what women look like, we’re not going to lose weight for whoever’s idea of what we’re supposed to look like.'”

Born Dana Owens, Latifah credits her mother with instilling self-love from a young age. She recalls being the “biggest girl in her class” and facing weight shaming in school, but her mother taught her that true love comes from within.

“Love yourself regardless, love comes from the inside,” her mother would say.

Since 2021, Queen Latifah has partnered with healthcare company Novo Nordisk to raise awareness about obesity and its broader health impacts, emphasizing that weight challenges go far beyond appearance.

The “Equalizer” alum has focused on educating the public about the links between obesity and cardiovascular disease, drawing on her own personal experiences with weight management.

For Latifah, the cause is deeply personal. She shared with People Magazine that the campaign is inspired by a cousin who struggled with morbid obesity.

Latifah explained that witnessing her cousin’s struggle and “how she fought for her life,” motivated her to take action, saying she couldn’t stand by without contributing to the cause.

She described the physical and emotional toll her cousin endured: “I watched her fight for her life for years, dealing with cardiovascular issues and blood clots and different kinds of things that were happening to her body, and fighting back and then falling back, and just the challenges because there’s a lot of mental challenges she was facing as well…”

She also emphasized that obesity isn’t just an individual issue, but one that affects many in her family, including herself. Latifah explained that if raising awareness and providing information can help even one person, it’s worth doing.
