The Toronto Raptors had lost their previous four home games prior to Sunday’s game against the Dallas Mavericks. On Sunday, Toronto came through with a statement win as they clobbered the Dallas Mavericks 122-92 to improve to a record of 36 wins and 27 losses on the season.
This was the second dominant win the Raptors have had in the last three weeks. On February 22, they went into Milwaukee, and clobbered the Bucks by a score of 122-94.
Eight Raptors players reached double digits in points. It was Canadian small forward RJ Barrett of Toronto, Ontario, who led the way with 31 points. Meanwhile, power forward Scottie Barnes had 17 points, center Jakob Poeltl had 16 points, center Sandro Mamukelasahvili had 13 points, small forward Brandon Ingram and shooting guard Ja’Kobe Walter had 11 points each, and Gradey Dick and Immanuel Quickley had 10 points. It was a double-double for Poeltl as he has 10 rebounds.
The Raptors won every quarter. They outscored Dallas 36-29 in the first quarter, 21-15 in the second quarter, 31-22 in the third quarter, and 34-26 in the fourth quarter.
The Raptors are now in fifth place in the Eastern Conference with a winning percentage of .571. This is a significant improvement from last season when they were in 11th place in the East with a winning percentage of .366.
