Arsenal produced a commanding performance at Elland Road to beat Leeds 4-0 and move seven points clear at the top of the Premier League.
Leeds began with good energy and pressed high in the opening stages, looking to disrupt Arsenal’s rhythm. Early crosses from the right and a speculative effort from Ethan Ampadu showed intent, but clear chances were scarce.
Arsenal initially looked slightly disjointed, not helped by Bukayo Saka’s late withdrawal before kick-off, yet they gradually established control.
The breakthrough arrived in the 27th minute following a long spell of pressure. Noni Madueke, starting on the right, delivered a cross into the six-yard box after Leeds failed to deal with an initial corner.
Martin Zubimendi reacted quickest to nod the ball home from close range, giving Arsenal a deserved lead.
Just over ten minutes later, the visitors doubled their advantage in unfortunate circumstances for the hosts. Another inswinging corner from Madueke caused problems, with goalkeeper Karl Darlow attempting to punch clear under pressure. Instead, the ball dropped into his own net, leaving Elland Road subdued and Arsenal firmly in control at 2-0.
Leeds reached half-time without a shot on target and having spent long periods defending their box.
Daniel Farke made changes at the break to inject more energy, and Leeds enjoyed a slightly better spell early in the second half.
They forced a corner and finally tested David Raya through Pascal Struijk’s header, but the Arsenal goalkeeper dealt with it comfortably.
The third goal arrived in the 69th minute and effectively settled the contest. Gabriel Martinelli, introduced from the bench, isolated his defender on the right and delivered a low cross into the six-yard area.
Viktor Gyokeres timed his run well and finished from close range for his first league goal of the year, further deflating the hosts.
Arsenal continued to create chances, with Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus both denied by Darlow.
Jesus eventually added a fourth in the 86th minute after neat interplay with Martin Odegaard, who had also come off the bench.
The Brazilian striker held off his marker before guiding a right-footed shot inside the far post.
