Her husband, Anthony Radziwill, is JFK Jr’s cousin on his mother’s side. The RHONY star was married to him from 1994 until his death a few years later.
There is a renewed interest in JFK Jr. after Ryan Murphy’s Love Story miniseries, which details his rocky relationship with Carolyn Bessette. John F Kennedy Jr., Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy, and her sister, Lauren Bessette, were killed in a plane crash in 1999. JFK Jr. was flying them to a wedding on Martha’s Vineyard. The plane crashed into the ocean. The accident is largely blamed on his inexperience as a pilot. He refused a flight instructor’s offer to fly with him on the ill-fated flight.
The shocking accident had wall-to-wall media coverage for days as the rescue crew searched for the wreckage. Carole Radziwill’s husband died months after JFK Jr. She wrote the book What Remains: A Memoir of Fate, Friendship and Love on the losses.
The Kennedy family wasn’t happy about the book, but that wasn’t the reason they cut her off. Last summer, Carole Radziwill released never-before-seen photos of JFK Jr.’s wedding. The 1996 wedding was highly private with only 40 guests invited. Carole Radziwill’s husband served as the best man.
A source close to the Kennedys spilled to journalist Rob Shuter that the family felt betrayed by the leak. “She’s been cut off,” the insider said. “She’s using the Kennedy name again to stay relevant. That’s how they see it.”
