Rogers has added a new add-on to its Roam Like Home Travel Pass, and will now cover cruise ships.
The new option is listed for both Rogers and Fido as the “US, Mexico & Caribbean + Cruises – 7 days” pass, and costs $100 (price is the same no matter which carrier you go with), according to the listing, or roughly $14.28 per day. Interestingly, Rogers notes on its website that data is limited to 1GB per 24 hours and that speeds will be reduced after 1GB is used up in a day.
As mentioned in the title, the pass is limited to destinations within the U.S. and the Caribbean. According to TravelPulse, the U.S. is one of the more popular starting points for cruises, while the Caribbean is one of the most popular cruise destinations, with Caribbean cruises garnering roughly 2.8 million searches between Apr. 2023 and Mar. 2024. (Mind you, this is when Canada-U.S. relations weren’t in a constant state of question.)
As a note, the destinations within the U.S. also include Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Also updated with the new release is the Daily Roaming option, which now receives the same cruise ships and data restrictions as the U.S., Mexico & Caribbean + Cruises option. The Daily Roaming option costs $18 per day.
Interestingly, this option increases the number of destinations (now including Europe and Asia) the package can go to. However, compared to the cruise plan, it excludes the U.S. and its territories.
Both options can be viewed on the Roam Like Home Travel Pass webpage. If you want to view options while on a cruise liner, there is a new tab labelled “Land & Sea” that can help filter the options for when you are at sea.
