Pakistan delivered a commanding all-round performance to outclass Australia by 90 runs in the second T20I at the Gaddafi Stadium. After winning the toss and opting to bat, Pakistan cricket team posted a formidable total before their bowlers dismantled the Aussies in a one-sided contest that showcased Pakistan’s depth and firepower.

Salman Agha leads Pakistan’s batting charge

Pakistan’s innings of 198/5 was built on a brilliant knock from Salman Agha, who anchored the middle order with a classy 76 off 40 balls. His innings, laced with eight fours and four sixes, provided the backbone after early movement at the top. Saim Ayub gave the innings early momentum with a rapid 23 off 11, while Usman Khan played the perfect supporting role later, scoring a composed 53 from 36 deliveries.

Shadab Khan’s late flourish, a lively 28 off 20, and Mohammad Nawaz’s quick nine ensured Pakistan finished strongly in the final overs. Australia managed to pick up wickets at regular intervals through Xavier Bartlett, Matthew Kuhnemann, Cooper Connolly, Sean Abbott, and Adam Zampa, but they struggled to contain the run flow on a good batting surface.

Australia crumble in chase despite brief resistance

Chasing a steep target of 199, Australia never found stability and were bowled out for 108 in just 15.4 overs. Cameron Green offered brief resistance with a counter-attacking 35 off 20 balls, while Matthew Short chipped in with 27. Mitchell Marsh showed intent early, striking two sixes in his 18, but the innings lacked partnerships and momentum.

    Bowlers seal emphatic victory

Pakistan’s bowlers applied relentless pressure, mixing pace, spin, and discipline. Abrar Ahmed was the standout, ripping through the middle order with figures of 3 for 14, while Shadab Khan matched him with three wickets of his own. Usman Tariq’s accuracy earned him two crucial scalps, and Mohammad Nawaz chipped in to keep Australia on the back foot throughout the chase.

The Australian batting lineup found no answers to Pakistan’s varied bowling attack, as wickets fell in clusters and the required rate ballooned quickly. Even with a few aggressive shots, Australia were never in control, eventually succumbing to a heavy 90-run defeat that underlined Pakistan’s dominance in home conditions.
