Samia just announced a live edition of her latest LP, Bloodless, recorded from her recent headline tour. In collaboration with Rough Trade, which named Bloodess as one of its albums of the year, Samia is releasing Bloodless Tour – Live From First Avenue, in a physical CD bundle with a new color variant of Bloodless, out today. The live LP will be available on streaming services on Nov. 14.

“It was an honor to play First Avenue, and the crowd was so warm,” Samia explains. “Some friends there made me a shirt that said MPLS on it with a big mosquito. Everybody danced at the end of the set. Also, there’s a great video on YouTube that I used to watch of Rilo Kiley doing ‘Breakin Up’ at First Avenue in 2007. Jenny Lewis is playing the cowbel,l and it’s so aspirational. There’s no cowbell in mine, but there was a dog named Cowbell in the green room.”

Bloodless marks Samia’s follow-up to her 2023 album, Honey. Her recent LP was recorded between North Carolina and her new home of Minneapolis, where First Avenue is located. “I’ve spent the past two decades unintentionally conflating an abstract idea of men with my understanding of God,” Samia says of Bloodless. “The person I became in order to impress this imagined figure is inseparable from who I am today. A significant part of my personality was built around traits and behaviors I believed — whether through observation or hearsay — men would like. With this album, I’ve tried to confront that head-on.”
