As much as I loved the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold, the phone definitely isn’t for everyone. According to Bloomberg, Samsung is set to discontinue the phone after being on sale for three months.
Samsung will start by stopping the sale of the device in South Korea, where the handset first launched back in December. Samsung will then discontinue its sales in the U.S. when it runs out of stock. The company is already sold out online, but customers can still purchase the handset in-store.
I played around with the TriFold back in December, and I was a big fan, thinking it was the ultimate foldable. I loved the aspect of the phone transforming from a standard-sized device to a 10-inch tablet. The device felt solid and well-built, slim while offering the 5,600mAh battery, the largest in any Samsung phone. However, the handset was rather expensive at US$2,899 (C$3,973), so I could see that price tag being difficult for many to swallow.
