The Saskatchewan Roughriders have launched a lottery for season ticket holders who want to be part of the new tailgating area at Mosaic Stadium.
Season ticket holders can enter the lottery free of charge though their online account or the link that was distributed via email on Monday morning. The deadline to enter is March 5 with successful applicants being contacted by the team in April.
Successful applicants will each receive two adjacent parking spaces — one for vehicle parking and one for their tailgate setup. Tailgate passes will be priced at $500 for the season, playoffs included, with payment being required after selection.
In September, team president and CEO Craig Reynolds wrote in an email to season ticket holders that the club was working with the provincial government to create legal tailgating at the footprint of Mosaic Stadium. Though the full set of regulations is still being finalized, the team has indicated that tailgaters will be permitted to bring their own alcohol and prepare their own food within the designated area.
The tailgating area will be open to the public with the team encouraging all fans to visit.
The Roughriders indicated that this “new initiative will allow fans to enjoy a safe and responsible tailgating experience on game days.” The club also said the tailgating area may grow with expanded capacity and additional public access in future seasons.
The Saskatchewan Roughriders finished first in the West Division standings in 2025 with a 12-6 record, finishing first in the West Division for the first time since 2019. The team went on to defeat the Montreal Alouettes in the 112th Grey Cup in Winnipeg, marking the team’s first championship in 12 years. Trevor Harris went 11-5 as a starter, throwing for 4,549 yards, 24 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions.
The Roughriders ranked second in net offence, second in net defence, and tied for third with a turnover differential of plus-eight. The club’s leading rusher was A.J. Ouellette with 1,222 yards, leading receiver was KeeSean Johnson with 1,159 yards, and leading tackler was A.J. Allen with 91 tackles. Saskatchewan finished second in attendance with average crowds of 28,427, which was a 2.7 percent increase from the previous year.
