No one has seen Today host Savannah Guthrie’s elderly mother for over two weeks now. Nancy Guthrie, 84, was reported missing on February 1, a day after she was last seen. Her home near Tucson, Arizona, was quickly identified as a crime scene after her blood was found on the porch.
The FBI joined in the investigation at President Trump’s urging. However, the case remains unsolved. The authorities have no idea where Nancy Guthrie is, if she’s alive, or who has her. There’s no motive or connection to explain the shocking disappearance.
Savannah Guthrie hasn’t been on the NBC morning program since her mother went missing. Sources close to the network say she may never return at all. Keep reading for more on whether the popular host is gone for good.
Sheriff Says Savannah Guthrie’s Mother Could Be Missing For ‘Years’
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos has been sharing frequent updates on the search for Nancy Guthrie. Despite the updates, there haven’t been many breaks in the case. The police found a discarded glove near the crime scene that was similar to the ones the alleged perpetrator was wearing in security footage.
The cameras outside Nancy Guthrie’s home were disconnected. However, footage from other cameras briefly showed a person in a ski mask at her front door around the time of her assumed abduction. It’s one of the only leads the police have had so far.
Sheriff Chris Nanos recently gave a heartbreaking update on the case. He said the investigation could take “weeks or months or years.” However, he remains committed to the search for Nancy Guthrie.

Another insider spoke out about how much Savannah Guthrie means to the Today Show. “If you could pick one person across the span of morning TV that a show would not want to lose, it would be Savannah,” the second source said.
The insider added, “Savannah was always the glue on that show, and without that, this whole paradigm of our morning anchor team as a family, that connective tissue has just been ripped out,” the second source said.
Savannah Guthrie has co-hosted the morning program since 2012. It would be a huge loss for the Today Show.
