Savannah Guthrie has missed nearly a month of the Today Show. Her mother, 84, has been missing since January 31. The police suspect an abduction, but have very few leads in finding Nancy Guthrie. Viewers are praying for the best result, but can’t help but wonder when the co-host might return. Keep reading for the latest.
Hoda Kotb Fills In On Today Show
Savannah Guthrie often told audiences that the show felt like “family.” The other hosts of the morning program have done everything possible to support their friend during this difficult time. Hoda Kotb gave up her quieter life to return to the Today Show. She left the NBC talk show in January 2025 to spend more time with her kids.
However, she jumped back into action and stepped in for Savannah Guthrie. According to multiple outlets, Hoda Kotb will continue to host for the fourth week in a row. Yet, is her return temporary or permanent?
Savannah Guthrie Makes Shocking Return Announcement
Savannah Guthrie immediately flew to Arizona when her mother was reported missing on February 1st. She has stayed in the area while the police search for her beloved mom. Her husband and two children have been with her. Sadly, with little movement in the investigation, life has to go on.
An insider told The U.S. Sun that Savannah Guthrie and her family plan to leave Arizona soon. “She’s coming back to New York, for her kids and their school, and her life,” the source said. Whether that means a return to the Today Show remains to be seen. The insider said that the NBC show is holding a spot for Savannah, but suggested she might be too traumatized to return full-time.

However, the source revealed that Savannah Guthrie’s husband, Michael Feldman, visited the studio and assured staffers that his wife planned to return. “The family is coming to terms with the idea that Nancy is likely gone; staying in Arizona isn’t going to help that,” a second insider claimed.
Desperate Plea For Mother’s Return
Nancy Guthrie’s home near Tucson, Arizona, was declared a crime scene within hours of the missing persons report. Police found blood on the front porch, but very few leads since then. Several ransom letters have been sent to the police and media, but they reportedly haven’t included proof of life.
Savannah Guthrie has posted several videos directly addressing anyone who has information about where her mom is. In her latest video, she admitted that her mom could be gone, but she has hope that Nancy Guthrie is still alive. The Today Show host offered a $1 million reward for any information that results in her mother’s return, alive or otherwise.
The FBI is urging anyone with tips or leads to call 1-800-CALL-FBI in addition to the Pima County Sheriff’s Office number, 520-351-4900.
