Colombian singer-songwriter Shakira beat another Guinness World Record, adding one more feat to her lengthy list of achievements recognized by the global organization.

To date, the singer has more than 10 records under her belt, making her one of the few entertainers who have achieved double-digit Guinness World Records.

Shakira has been busy touring the globe since February of last year, and in the middle of her tour, she officially set the Guinness World Record for the highest-grossing tour by a Hispanic artist of all time, as reported by Billboard.

The “Hips Don’t Lie” singer’s Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour has sold about 3.3 million tickets, generating $421.6 million. The staggering number earned her the record, which was previously held by Mexican singer Luis Miguel, who grossed $409.5 million during his Luis Miguel Tour 2023-24 with 190 shows.

Third on the list is Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny, who grossed over $314 million on his World’s Hottest Tour in 2022, wherein he did 43 shows.

The Latin pop superstar started writing songs before she was 10 years old and released her first album, “Magia,” in 1991 when she was 14. She gained global recognition in 2001 after she released her first English album, “Laundry Service,” which included her hit track. “Whenever, Wherever.”

In a statement to Billboard, Shakira expressed her excitement over her new feat, saying, “Breaking this record is a new milestone for me, considering that there are so many great artists who historically have toured in Latin America and Spain.”

The 48-year-old singer added it’s “unbelievable,” noting that she wouldn’t have this achievement if it weren’t for her fans. “I can only be grateful for the loyalty and passion of my fans, who give meaning to everything I do, and without them, none of this would be happening. Without a doubt, they are the best fans in the world,” she expressed.

She Beat Four Records In A Week

This isn’t the first, second, or third Guinness World Record Shakira beat. In fact, she holds several records, at one point earning four records in the same week.

As reported by the world’s leading record-keeping authority, Shakira, together with Argentinian record producer Bizarrap, was awarded four Guinness World Records for their collaboration on the song “BZRP Music Sessions, Vol. 53,” released in January 2023.

The song became the most viewed Latin track on YouTube in 24 hours, with 63 million views. It eventually reached 100 million views, which earned them the record for the fastest Latin track to reach 100 million views on the platform.

They also earned a plaque for most-streamed Latin track on Spotify in 24 hours, with 14.4 million plays, and by the end of the first week since its debut, that number grew to an impressive 80.6 million plays, earning them the record for most-streamed Latin track on Spotify in a week.

Shakira Holds Several Other Guinness World Records

Shakira has made her mark in the music community, and apart from the mentioned accolades, she has also achieved other milestones throughout her career.

In 2021, the Guinness World Records recognized her for having the most awards won by a female artist at the Billboard Latin Music Awards, with 41 wins.

In 2023, Shakira became the first female artist to replace herself at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Latin Airplay chart. In February of that year, Shakira’s song with Puerto Rican singer Ozuna, titled “Monotonía,” slipped from the top position and was replaced by  “BZRP Music Sessions, Vol. 53.”

Shakira also holds the record for the most-streamed FIFA World Cup song on Spotify. “Waka Waka” was the official theme song of the 2010 World Cup, and in January 2025, it reached more than a billion plays on Spotify.

Her Record-Breaking Tour Is Coming To An End

Shakira’s Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour has a few dates remaining. The Latin pop superstar will have five performances in El Salvador from February 7 to 15, followed by three dates in Mexico.

However, it seems her fans from other parts of the globe will still have a chance to see her live, as recent reports confirmed additional dates on her roster.

As reported by The National, Shakira will be headlining the Offlimits music festival in Abu Dhabi on April 4. Colombia 1 has also reported that the singer will be performing in Tokyo and Osaka, Japan, though no dates have been announced as of yet.
