Page Six reported that Shaq’s new vehicle was being customized by Effortless Motors and was supposed to be shipped from Georgia to Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

The pricey luxury vehicle was picked up on Monday, October 20, but it never reached its final destination.

TMZ reported that local law enforcement officers believe a person may have impersonated the shipping company set to deliver Shaq’s vehicle, acting as if they were authorized to handle the pricey product.

According to multiple reports, hackers may have accessed delivery details by hacking the moving company’s system and later used the information to send Shaq’s vehicle elsewhere.

“Preliminary information suggests that an unauthorized individual or company may have taken possession of the vehicle under false pretenses,” the Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office reported to TMZ.

Now, Effortless Motors, the company that sold Shaq the vehicle, is offering a $10,000 reward to anyone who can provide information leading to the recovery of the car.

The company also issued a statement, explaining what they believed might’ve occurred behind the scenes.

“Effortless Motors was the authorized selling dealership and arranged transport through a third-party company that appeared fully verified. Upon the vehicle’s scheduled delivery, it was discovered that the company’s internal systems had been compromised and hijacked, resulting in the car being unlawfully taken during transit,” the statement read.

“We take the security and trust of our clients very seriously,” it continued. “This was a highly coordinated criminal act targeting the transport company’s network. We are working closely with law enforcement and federal investigators to recover the vehicle and hold those responsible accountable.”

Shaq has always been a lover of fancy vehicles, previously admitting he owns 40, but doesn’t know “why.”

“And I’ve got five houses, I don’t know why,” the LSU alum revealed before urging others to live a modest life and be smart with their money.

“Just save. Don’t even touch it,” he said. “It’s not about how much you make; it’s about how much you keep.”

Shaq Defends Angel Reese During Podcast Interview

As previously reported by The Blast, Shaq made headlines after issuing a passionate warning to Robert Griffin III, also known as RGIII, demanding he leave WNBA superstar Angel Reese alone.

After the former NFL player shared an image depicting Reese as a monkey on X, formerly Twitter, Shaq threatened the podcaster with violence if he did it again.

“Tweet another monkey post about my girl Angel Reese and I’m gonna punch you in your f-cking face,” he said.

He continued, “It’s enough. I don’t usually do stuff like this, but stop it, bro. You got your job, you got your podcast. Leave my Angel Reese alone. I’m the one calling her and telling her not to respond. F-cking stop it. That’s the last time.”

Shaq’s defense of Reese came directly after the baller’s second season opener against Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever.

He downplayed the on-court tension between Clark and Reese, saying it’s “not real hate.”

“If you look around at what’s going on in this real country, that’s hate,” he continued, adding, “This is sports; I’m not supposed to like you.”

Shaq Isn’t The Only Person Whose Vehicle Never Arrived

While unfortunate, Shaq isn’t the first person to experience trouble receiving a luxury vehicle after purchase.

7 News in Miami, Florida, reported about a Michigan man who fell victim to a similar scheme after his $300,000 Rolls-Royce went missing.

“I buy it online, I talk to the dealer, we do the deal,” he said. “This car is a $300,000 car … gone.”

According to the report, the man purchased the vehicle in South Florida and arranged for it to be delivered to him near Detroit.

However, after it never arrived, the man said he believed it was stolen after it was picked up for transport on January 17, 2025.

“I feel not safe,” the man, who planned to add his new whip to his collection of fancy cars, told reporters.
