Some Bell customers are reporting another internet price hike

A number of Bell customers say the carrier has once again raised the price of their internet plan.

On Reddit, user Johan08191970 said they’re being charged more for their December bill, and this is the fifth hike this year. According to the user, they were charged $105/month before taxes in January (it’s unclear what they were paying prior), with additional increases coming in May ($109), June ($121.87), July ($128) and now December ($132).

MobileSyrup reached out to Bell regarding the reported price increases, and the company noted it would be raising prices in Ontario and Quebec next year “due to rising operating costs and an evolving market.” Below is the full statement from Bell:

“Since 2020, Bell has invested more than $24 billion to deliver Canada’s fastest networks at competitive prices. Due to rising operating costs and an evolving market, the monthly rate of Bell Internet, TV and home phone services will be increasing in Quebec in February 2026; and the monthly rate of Bell Internet will be increasing in Ontario in March 2026. All impacted customers will receive 60 days’ advance notice.

“We value our customers, and we are committed to providing them with flexible options. Our plans, bundles and promotions range from premium offerings to affordable packages designed to meet the needs of different customers.”

Redditor Johan08191970 wasn’t the only customer who claimed their bill increased. Another user, Fun-Replacement-3692, said they understand the original poster’s feeling, noting that they’ve had multiple price increases on their Bell services bundle that includes phone (10GB data), Fibe 50 internet and Fibe TV Good package with Crave and Starz. This user says they were paying $240.55 in January, followed by $243.12 in February, $247.53 in March, $251.93 in June and $254.50 in December.

Commenter Successful-Spray6276 didn’t mention an exact timeline, but mentions they were paying for Fibe internet and TV for $99/month a “couple years” ago, but now pay $189 for internet alone. Replying to this comment, user Scoobysnax1976 said after two years, their $115 monthly charge for internet, home phone and basic Fibe TV jumped to $185, while their bring your own phone plan with Bell has gone up $25-30 in a little over a year. Both users said they contacted Bell to protest, but weren’t given any better deal.

That said, some other users reported not having any increase this year. In fact, u/elyk_fall_down said they got a price decrease and internet speed upgrade since the start of the year; $130 for 3G internet on the latest December bill vs. $135 for 1G internet in January.

MobileSyrup has tracked several Bell price increases this year, including an internet and TV hike in January, another internet price increase in May, a mobile price increase in June, and another TV hike in November.

Anecdotally, MobileSyrup editor-in-chief Jon Lamont cancelled his Bell internet in June 2025 following repeated price hikes in 2024 and 2025.

Clearly, your mileage will vary, but in any event, it’s always a good idea to closely review your bill every month to ensure there are no hidden increases. And if your internet provider is hitting you with a price hike, it’s always a good time to start shopping for a new internet provider.
