Have you ever cremated a family member or pet and thought, “Man, I wish I had a special urn to put their ashes in?” If so, this extremely random product might be for you!
Enter the Spotify Urn, a speaker-equipped vase made in partnership between the music streaming service and the canned beverage company Liquid Death. Yes, you read that right — this is an urn that can play music. Why? Who knows.
On Liquid Death’s website, the company lists the product with the slogan “Death is finally a lot less boring.” Because even ashes need music, right? Otherwise, there’s not much information on the product besides the Bluetooth speaker being made out of “polyester resin” and being shoved into a plastic urn. In other words, the sound quality will likely suck. Beyond this, though, we don’t know battery life or other specs.
And best of all, Liquid Death is only making 150 speakers, they’ll cost US$495 (about C$677), and it’s not shipping them to Canada. All in all, this is a baffling product, but it’s fun to chuckle over, if nothing else.
