Apple TV has just premiered the teaser trailer for Star City, the upcoming spin-off of their acclaimed space race alternate history drama, For All Mankind.
The show will be an eight-episode paranoia thriller that takes viewers back to the pivotal moment in the alternate history retelling of the space race seen in the original show – when the Soviet Union became the first nation to put a man on the moon. However, this time, the plot will unfold behind the Iron Curtain, revealing the lives of cosmonauts, engineers, and intelligence officers in the Soviet space programme, as well as the risks they took to propel humankind forward.
The ensemble cast features the likes of Rhys Ifans, Anna Maxwell Martin, Agnes O’Casey, Alice Englert, Solly McLeod, Adam Nagaitis, Ruby Ashbourne Serkis, Josef Davies, and Priya Kansara.
The series was created by Ben Nedivi, Matt Wolpert and Ronald D. Moore, with the first two also serving as showrunners.
