Wondering what to watch on streaming?
Every week, MobileSyrup outlines some of the most notable new movies and TV shows. Apple TV
Shrinking (Season 3) [Apple Original]
Apple TV Canada premiere date: Wednesday, January 28 (first episode, new episodes every week)
Genre: Comedy
Runtime: 11 episodes
Jimmy must grapple with being an empty nester while Paul deals with new Parkinson’s challenges.
Shrinking was created by Ted Lasso‘s Bill Lawrence and Brett Goldstein and Jason Segel (How I Met Your Mother) and stars Segel, Harrison Ford (Indiana Jones series), Jessica Williams (The Daily Show), Michael Urie (Ugly Betty), Lukita Maxwell (Generation), Christa Miller (Scrubs) and Ted McGinley (Married… With Children). It’s also worth noting that Edmonton’s Michael J. Fox (Back to the Future) makes a guest appearance in this season.

Crave
Saints & Warriors [Crave Original]
Crave premiere date: Monday, January 26

This documentary follows B.C.’s Skidegate Saints as they compete in the All Native Basketball Tournament.
The film was directed by Skidegate filmmaker Patrick Shannon (Stuff the British Stole).

Wonder Man [Disney+ Original]
Disney+ Canada premiere date: Tuesday, January 27 (all episodes)
Genre: Superhero, comedy

An aspiring actor hides his superpowers as he vies for the role of a superhero film.
Based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name, Wonder Man was adapted by Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) and Andrew Guest (Brooklyn Nine-Nine) and stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Watchmen), X Mayo (American Auto), Zlatko Burić (Pusher), Ben Kingsley (returning as Trevor Slattery from Iron Man 3 and Shang-Chi) and Arian Moayed (returning as Agent Cleary from Spider-Man: No Way Home and Ms. Marvel).

Bridgerton (Season 4 Part 1) [Netflix Original]

The second-oldest Bridgerton sibling meets his captivating romantic interest at his mother’s masquerade ball.
Based on Julia Quinn’s book series of the same name, Bridgerton was created by Shonda Rhimes (Grey’s Anatomy) and Season 4 features an ensemble cast that includes Luke Thompson (In the Club), Ruth Gemmell (EastEnders) and Yerin Ha (Bad Behaviour), as well the likes of Jonathan Bailey (Wicked), Nicola Coughlan (Big Mood) and Simone Ashley (Sex Education).
Stream Bridgerton on Netflix. Note that the four-episode second part of Season 4 drops on February 26.
Glitter & Gold [Netflix Original]
Netflix Canada premiere date: Sunday, February 1
Genre: Documentary
Runtime: Three episodes
This documentary follows three ice dancing pros leading up to the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano Cortina: Canada’s Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier, France’s Laurence Fournier Beaudry (who is originally from Montreal) and Guillaume Cizeron, and the U.S.’ Madison Chock and Evan Bates.
Stream Glitter & Gold on Netflix. It’s worth noting that the Winter Olympics run from February 4 to 22, and you can tune in via CBC.
Paramount+
The Smashing Machine
Original theatrical release date: October 3, 2025
Netflix Canada premiere date: Friday, January 30
Genre: Biographical sports drama

Based on a true story, The Smashing Machine follows UFC fighter Mark Kerr as he grapples with addiction on his pursuit of greatness.
The Smashing Machine was written and directed by Benny Safdie (Uncut Gems) and stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson (Ballers), Emily Blunt (Sicario) and real MMA fighters Ryan Bader and Bas Rutten.
