Hornets (+7.5) at Hawks – 6:00 p.m. ET

Both teams are playing with no rest in this spot as Charlotte looks to end a five-game losing streak. The Hornets were torched by James Harden’s 55 points in Saturday’s 131-116 home defeat to the Clippers.

The Hawks took care of the hapless Pelicans on Saturday, 115-98, covering easily as 9.5-point road favorites. Atlanta is back home after playing a seven-game stretch in seven different cities, with one home game wedged in the middle.

Charlotte is in the underdog role after being listed as a favorite the last two games. The Hornets are 3-1 against the spread in their past four opportunities as an underdog and look to avenge a season sweep by the Hawks last season. This is also the highest favorite spot for Atlanta this season at home.

Nets (+12.5) at Raptors

The Raptors own the second-best record in the Eastern Conference through the first month at 11-5. Toronto is riding a six-game winning streak, hosting Brooklyn tonight, who is off only its third victory of the season.

The Nets surprised the Celtics on Friday, 113-105 at TD Garden as 14-point underdogs, marking their third cover in the last four games. Brooklyn is 4-1 against the spread in its previous five games away from Barclays Center.

In the first matchup this season, the Raptors won at Brooklyn, 119-109 on November 11 as 9.5-point favorites. Toronto has captured the past four meetings with Brooklyn, but there may be a look-ahead spot tonight for the Raptors. On Monday, they host the Cavaliers in a key Eastern Conference showdown.

Lakers/Jazz Under (245.5)

The Jazz have hit the Over in five consecutive games, including in last Tuesday’s 140-126 road setback to the Lakers.

LeBron James made his season debut for L.A. that night, scoring 11 points and dishing out 12 assists in nearly 30 minutes of action. That game easily hit the Over on a 240 total, but tonight’s total has been bumped up nearly six points.

Utah has yielded at least 140 points in three straight games, including 144 in Friday’s blowout loss to Oklahoma City. The Lakers are 4-1 to the Under in their last five road games, while not seeing a road total of higher than 238.5 this season.

The Jazz are willing to go up and down the floor and play no defense, but this total may be adjusted a bit too high after what we’ve seen recently, so let’s go the other way and take the Under.
