Sydney Sweeney Is ‘Not Looking To Settle Down’ Amid New Romance

Sydney Sweeney‘s relationship with her new beau, Scooter Braun, is “still going strong,” but sources claim the Hollywood star isn’t looking to settle down just yet.

The “Euphoria” star came under fire last year for several reasons, particularly her controversial American Eagle ad, and insiders claim she is keeping her head high but feels like she has been “misunderstood.”

More recently, Sydney Sweeney is putting her energy into growing her lingerie brand, Syrn, and has reportedly been receiving support from Scooter Braun on the business side of things.

Sweeney and Braun’s Relationship is proving to be more than just a summer fling. The pair met each other mid-last year when they attended the star-studded wedding of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez in Venice.

After that, they went on a series of public dates, including a trip to an amusement park where they were seen hand-in-hand in the company of Sweeney’s mom, Lisa, and her father, Steven.

Their public outings, however, appear to have become rare nowadays, with the 28-year-old actress seemingly settling for a no-pressure, no-label dynamic between them. Yet, sources note that this doesn’t imply a strain between the couple as their romance is “still going strong.”

“It’s a very casual, laid-back relationship,” an insider told Us Weekly. “Sydney is not looking to settle down right now.”

The insider added, “She has been hesitant to get into another serious relationship but is enjoying her time with him.”

Sweeney is known to be a private person when it comes to relationships and dating. She was engaged to ex-boyfriend Jonathan Davino for years, but the pair kept things private and rarely shared details about their relationship at the time.

However, things between her and Braun seem much less private, with major pda and hearfelt gestures.

Recently, Braun even lent the actress’s mom his private jet. In photos obtained by TMZ, Sweeney’s mom, Lisa, was seen receiving VIP treatment at a Los Angeles airport, stepping out of an SUV before boarding the businessman’s jet with her pet dog.

The gesture seemingly implies that they have met each other’s parents, and are taking their romance seriously.

Although their relationship is seemingly getting stronger, the “Anyone But You” actress played coy about Braun last month in a January interview with Cosmopolitan.

“I’m still figuring out love, and it’s hard to do that with millions of people who have their own opinions of what that looks like,” she said.

Sweeney then referenced her past relationship with Davino in a bid to explain how much she values privacy when it comes to love.

“I was in a relationship for a very long time, for seven and a half years, and I never talked about it. I was very private. No one would ever see us,” Sweeney told the publication.

She added, “It’s hard deciding that I want to experience love in the public eye. I’m just navigating it all.”

While she made headlines for her romance last year, “The White Lotus” actress also came under fire for her controversial American Eagle ad, which many said supports eugenics and white supremacy.

Sweeney was also slammed online over a photo she shared with boxer Christy Martin to promote her movie “Christy,” with netizens accusing her of sexualizing the post even in sports wear.

She also received backlash when she left very little to the imagination while attending Variety’s star-studded Power of Women event last October.

However, the source who spoke to Us Weekly revealed that Sweeney is forging ahead in her career but feels like a lot of people misunderstand her.

“Sydney is still navigating this era and feels like she has been really misunderstood,” the insider explained. “She’s been in a better headspace in the last month, but had a hard time with all the recent backlash.”

Away from the scandals, Sweeney has set her sights on growing her lingerie line, Syrn, and has reportedly been receiving business support from her partner, Braun.

The 44-year-old is a successful entrepreneur in the music business, having managed top stars like Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande.

“She’s really excited about the line and has been pouring her heart and soul into it. It means a lot to her to have the inclusivity in the space,” the source shared. “Scooter loves that she has a business mindset and is very driven.”

When their relationship became public knowledge late last year, one source told the news outlet that their relationship had been a “low-pressure” experience for both of them and had been a “different” affair for Sweeney.

Yet, business seems to be a central theme as the insider noted that Braun “introduced her to new perspectives” in business, and that he also opened her “eyes to opportunities and ways of thinking she hadn’t considered before.”
