Tragedy Strikes For Texas Man Outside Of Houston Restaurant
According to the New York Post, a man named Jessie Mobley Jr. “allegedly fell asleep after eating a meal at KFFO Afro Steakhouse in Houston on Aug. 7 and employees moved him outside, where he was propped up with his belongings and not discovered until the next morning, according to the Houston Police Department.”
It turns out, restaurant staff believed Mobley Jr. to be a homeless man. Due to this, they moved him on their own and did not call 911 for assistance. First responders pronounced the 34-year-old man dead outside of the Eldridge/West Oaks neighborhood strip mall just after 9 am.
Family Members Blame Restaurant Staff For Man’s Death
Family members of Jessie Mobley Jr. are blaming restaurant staff for his death. His aunt was left utterly “disgusted” with how staff at the establishment chose to handle this situation. Speaking to the Houston Chronicle, Charlene Fogg-Drake said of the situation, “Why didn’t you call 911? I feel like people need to be accountable for it, I really do.”
At the time of this writing, no cause of death has been determined. Police are currently awaiting the results of an autopsy to determine the cause of death. Speaking on this tragic situation and the loss of her son, Mobley’s mother added, “We just think if somebody had gotten him some help instead of putting him on the sidewalk — called 911 if nothing else.
