2025 was a big year for people who are chronically online.

While there were many TikTok trends that encapsulated the past 365 days (hello, group 7!), the Coldplay Kiss Cam scandal grabbed the attention of social media users and celebrities alike.

In case you forgot, a jumbotron showed former Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and employee Kristin Cabot cozying up to each other at a Coldplay concert in July. The moment has since been reenacted by celebrities, including Sofia Richie Grainge and husband Elliot Grainge, who poked fun at the saga. “Stadiums … the land of privacy,” Richie Grainge quipped in the TikTok caption.

Later in the year, a remix of 4 Non Blondes’ “What’s Up?” and Nicki Minaj’s “Beez in the Trap” had TikTok in a chokehold, with users sharing videos back-to-back as they lip-synched the two songs. Before hosting Saturday Night Live in October, Sabrina Carpenter tried her hand at the trend with cast member Marcello Hernández and amassed more than 20 million views on the show’s TikTok account.

Scroll down to remember the biggest TikTok trends of 2025:

    Group 7

Sophia James took over the internet in fall 2025 when she shared a series of videos via TikTok, labeling the clips — and fans — into groups. It wasn’t until her seventh and final video that James went viral.

“If you are watching this video, you are in group 7,” James said in the clip. “I have posted seven videos tonight and this is the seventh one. Just a little science experiment to see what kind of video gets the most reach. I don’t know what that says about you, but you’re in group 7!”

The video went on to receive more than 85 million views, with social media users and celebrities chiming in on their self-described “elite” group. “A light workout for someone in group 7,” Olympian Stephen Nedoroscik wrote via TikTok, alongside a video of him doing the pommel horse.

    Role Model’s Sally

Role Model began bringing surprise guests (think: Jake Shane and Hilary Duff) on stage as his “Sally” while performing the hit track “Sally, When the Wine Runs Out,” which, of course, led TikTok users to want in on the fun. “Me practicing how I’d be Sally if I was chosen,” radio host Josh “Bru” Brubaker wrote over a TikTok video, where he began to dance as Role Model stood beside him.

    Princess Treatment

The princess treatment, which was derived from influencer Courtney Palmer, is all about letting husbands lead. And what exactly does that look like? Letting your husband open doors, speak to hostesses at restaurants and do all the ordering.

“Anything really, you’re just waiting for your husband to do it,” Palmer explained in a June TikTok. “It’s not because you can’t. It’s not because you’re not able to. It’s not because you’re better than anybody. It’s just the fun part of being that princess, of being that feminine wife and letting your husband take care of you.”

    The Nicki Minaj Challenge

More than one decade after Minaj’s challenge originally debuted in her “High School” music video, the trend took over social media again, with influencers and celebrities alike attempting to balance on one foot in tall stiletto heels.

In August, Dancing With the Stars pro Witney Carson expertly balanced on her round Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy in a pair of black booties, while The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Mikayla Matthews blindfolded herself as she rocked stiletto heels on a step stool while cradling her newborn. Minaj herself joined in on the fun, nailing the pose in a pair of gold heels while balancing on a table.

Dylan Efron and Daniella Karagach’s ‘DWTS’ Routine

    Dancing With The Stars/YouTube

It wouldn’t be a season of DWTS without at least one dance taking over the internet. Last year, it was Carson and Danny Amendola’s impressive leg lift — and this year, it was Dylan Efron holding Daniella Karagach horizontal as she pretended to walk during their Argentine tango. Set to Bill Withers’ “Ain’t No Sunshine,” the trend was reenacted by many users and celebrities — including Karagach’s husband, Pasha Pashkov, and their daughter, Nikita.

“Making my dad attempt Dylan & mama’s air walk lift,” Pashkov wrote over an Instagram clip of himself and Nikita trying out the dance, captioning the video, “Tiny dancer.”

    Hozier’s Yell

While Noah Kahan and Hozier’s “Northern Attitude” debuted in 2022, it wasn’t until 2025 that fans began appreciating the so-called “Hozier’s Yell” — a snippet of the track where Hozier lets out a scream. Creators began pairing the audio with core memories from their lives with the caption, “A moment that felt like Hozier’s yell.” The trend made it to the DWTS ballroom, where comedian Andy Richter grabbed the camera during his foxtrot with Emma Slater and had his Hozier moment.

    The Coldplay Kiss Cam Scandal

It all began when Byron and Cabot were shown on the kiss cam, leading Byron to quickly drop his arms from Cabot’s waist and duck away from the cameras.

“Whoa, look at these two. Alright, come on. You’re OK. Oh, what? Either they’re having an affair, or they’re very shy. I’m not quite sure what to do. Holy s***,” Coldplay frontman Chris Martin said at the July concert. “I hope we didn’t do something bad.”

The audio — and moment — quickly went viral as users began reenacting the saga. In a TikTok video, Grainge placed his hands around Richie Grainge’s waist as they stood inside a stadium box — before Richie Grainge spun out of his hold and covered her face in her hands as Grainge dropped to the floor.

4 Non Blondes’ ‘What’s Up?’ x Nicki Minaj’s ‘Beez in the Trap’

In October, Jimmy Fallon tried out the routine with Malala Yousafzai, who rapped as the late night host sang “What’s Up?” The official Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon TikTok account captioned the clip, “What’s going on @Malala Yousafzai?!”

    Six Seven

It wouldn’t be a 2025 roundup without including “six seven” — which you have probably heard uttered by thousands of children by now. While it’s unclear where exactly the trend originates from, it seemingly derives from the song “Doot Doot (6 7)” by Skrilla.

Several influencers and celebrities have incorporated the phrase into everyday conversation. In December 2025, Sydney Sweeney made an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where she was tasked with guessing a scene behind her. (Spoiler alert: the background included three Labubu dolls doing the “six seven” trend while at a McDonald’s drive-thru.)

As Fallon began to describe the scene, Sweeney seemingly didn’t want to say the viral numbers. “No, I can’t say that, that’s the trend!” she said, before adding, “I know it’s six seven.” Fallon, meanwhile, cheered and said it wasn’t a “dirty” phrase,” while Sweeney claimed to have seen videos about people “getting in trouble” for saying the term so wanted to be cautious.
