Lucasfilm has released the first teaser trailer for the upcoming summer blockbuster The Mandalorian and Grogu, which you can watch below!
Taking place after the events of the third season of The Mandalorian, the film stars Pedro Pascal in the lead role alongside “The Child” as well as Sigourney Weaver, Jeremy Allen White, and Jonny Coyne. Jon Favreau, who created the series, is the film’s director and co-wrote the film with Dave Filoni, a fellow Star Wars alum who worked on Ahsoka, The Clone Wars, Skeleton Crew and The Book of Boba Fett.
Chatting to The Hollywood Reporter, Favreau previously said on directing the film: “To come back together and have the scale and scope of the big screen to tell a story with characters people already know in a brand-new adventure that can … part of what we’ve set out to do is something that rewards people who have been with the show since the beginning, who have been with Star Wars since the beginning. But since we’re on the big screen, it’s an opportunity to reach out to a whole new audience with a whole new adventure and certainly with Grogu — certainly all the kids know who that is, and this is an opportunity to bring them to the theater.”
Official Synopsis:
“The evil Empire has fallen, and Imperial warlords remain scattered throughout the galaxy. As the fledgling New Republic works to protect everything the Rebellion fought for, they have enlisted the help of legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and his young apprentice Grogu.”
It’s a new era of Star Wars on the big screen, with Shawn Levy’s Star Wars: Starfighter – starring Ryan Gosling – set for cinemas in 2027,
