West Ham picked up a huge 1-0 win at Fulham on Wednesday night, with Crysencio Summerville producing the all-important moment at Craven Cottage.
The winger continued his impressive form in 2026 by scoring the only goal of the match, guiding a composed finish past Bernd Leno from outside the penalty area.
The strike capped another influential display from Summerville, who has now registered seven goals and four assists in just ten appearances in 2026.
Collecting the ball around 25 yards from goal, the Dutchman initially considered attempting a chip but instead steadied himself before curling the ball into the corner.
After the match, Summerville dedicated his performance to his young daughter.
“The [Man of the Match] trophy is for her! I said to my girl as well, I’m going to score for her, so I’m very pleased today.”
Explaining the moment that led to his goal, he added: “I think first I wanted to chip the goalie but then I thought I needed to stay calm there. I composed myself and then I slid it down the side.
“I’m in a good space. I feel good. I feel confident. I get the trust from the coach as well, from my teammates, so I hope I can keep going and keep the consistency and momentum. I’m happy to help the team with the goal.
“It’s always a difficult place to come to. They are in a good flow as well, so to get away with three points today is very massive. We’re going in the right direction and we take all the positives from this game.”
The result moves West Ham level on points with Nottingham Forest and keeps them within touching distance of both Tottenham and Leeds in the Premier League table.
Summerville believes the team must maintain their momentum as the season approaches its biggest few weeks.
“We know it’s going to be a fight till the end and that’s what we are doing. Like I said, this one was important for us to boost ourselves as well. The only way is up now.”
“For sure we want to keep this momentum. Every game, like in the Cup as well, we want to take results and we’re going to do this as well.”
