The Real L Word Star Dead At 43
After the success of The L Word, it only seemed appropriate to do a reality version of the steamy drama. Therefore, Showtime created The Real L Word, showcasing the lives of lesbians living in California. Some were engaged, some were in serious relationships, and some were looking for love in all of the wrong places. The bottom line was that no matter one’s sexuality, finding and keeping love is a struggle. It was real and raw, and by Season 2, the cast was overhauled, and it became even more graphic.
Francine Beppu came in Season 2 of the hit Showtime reality series. She had dated Campbell Moseley, who also joined that season, for many years. Then, they split, and Francine was working and living in California while Claire stayed in NYC. Claire began dating someone new, but felt the need to see what could happen with Francine, so she relocated, but it didn’t work. As time went on, Francine began dating Khristianne Uy, aka Chef K. Sadly, news has broken that Francine passed away. She was just 43 at the time.
The Real L Word alum had been living in Hawaii when she died on February 17th, 2026. As of now, no cause of death has been revealed. Fans may recall she struggled with coming out to her mother. Yet, she finally did and felt so relieved that she could be her authentic self.
