Whoopi Goldberg Makes Rare Appearance on Weekend View Amid Joy Behar’s Absence
Joy Behar is the only original host of The View still on the show. She missed a few seasons years ago, but returned better than ever. While Whoopi Goldberg is usually the moderator, Joy Behar heads up the show’s weekend episode and fills in when Whoopi is off.
But viewers haven’t seen Joy Behar on the show since January 23rd. Whoopi Goldberg addressed her absence on Tuesday’s episode. “We want to let you know Joy is out, she’s not feeling well, so we want her to feel better and get her behind back here,” she told the audience.
Joy Behar, 83, missed several episodes in November after breaking her toe. Whoopi Goldberg shared an update later in the week. “I know you see that Joy isn’t here today. She’ll be back next week,” she said. Joy Behar typically has Mondays off, so her return date is set for Tuesday, February 3.
Fans Think The View Host Is Trying To Push Whoopi Out, Take Her Place
Several of the other hosts of The View have stepped in as moderators in the past when both Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar were absent at the same time. However, fans think one of the hosts is trying to push Whoopi out and take over as moderator for good.

- Has anyone else noticed over the past few weeks that Sunny keeps overstepping Whoopi? Announcing how much time they have left in the segment, stating when they’re gonna go to break, & even talking over Whoopi.

- “Whoopi seems to get annoyed with Brian when he directs them to play the music to cut her off to go to break. She made a face at him the other day because of that.”
