Elisabeth Hasselbeck Replaces Alyssa Farah Griffin
Alyssa Farah Griffin joined The View as co-host in 2022. She has rare insight into the Trump administration after serving in a communications role in his first term. She recently left the show in early February to be with her newborn son. ABC is filling the seat with a roster of guest hosts. Reality star Savannah Chrisley and conservative commentator Amanda Carpenter were among the guests so far.
ABC previously announced that former host Elisabeth Hasselbeck was among the upcoming guest co-hosts. She was a host on the talk show for ten seasons. She joined in 2003, shortly after her stint on the reality show Survivor. Elisabeth Hasselbeck left the show in 2013.
During her time on The View, Elisabeth Hasselbeck tangled with several of her co-hosts. Her on-air argument with Rosie O’Donnell in 2007 is still talked about today. The two got in a shouting match over the war in Iraq. Rosie O’Donnell was upset with her co-host for not defending her after the media labeled her a “terrorist sympathizer.” Rosie O’Donnell left the show that year, partly due to the on-air tension. Current host Whoopi replaced her.
The View Fans Erupt Over Shocking Return
Elisabeth Hasselbeck returned to The View a few times since her 2013 departure. However, she hasn’t been back since she publicly trashed Joy Behar and the show as a “sinking ship” last year on Fox News.
Surprisingly, Joy Behar doesn’t have a problem with her former co-host’s return. But fans do. The ABC show shared the news on Instagram that Elisabeth Hasselbeck will be hosting for the entire week. Viewers took to the comments to share plans to boycott.
