The FCC has its eyes on The View, and they’re not gonna like what happened during a recent episode. The hosts of the ABC talk show are usually the ones getting censored. But a recent guest exploded and dropped the f-bomb on live television. Keep reading for more details on the shocking incident.
The View Guest Explodes On Live TV, Drops F-Bomb
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is investigating The View for breaking the equal time rule for political candidates. However, they might open another investigation into the talk show for profanity. A recent guest dropped the f-bomb live on TV during a heated discussion.
The ABC talk show welcomed Valerie Bertinelli to promote her new book. She released Getting Naked this week. The book details her years as an actress, her divorce from Eddie Van Halen, aging in Hollywood, and more.
The actress has been in show business for over 50 years. Fans still remember watching her on One Day at a Time. She later added Food Network host and personality to her already impressive resume.
She revealed in her new book that she was sexually abused as a young girl. It’s the first time she’s ever spoken out about it in public. While speaking of the abuse, Valerie Bertinelli blasted the government for not protecting sexual assault victims.
“When I’m seeing all of this happen and these incredibly brave survivors speaking about unspeakable things, and we have idiots in Congress — I want to use a stronger word — that are protecting them, that are still having their jobs by protecting them. Okay, I’m…,” she said, trailing off while she composed herself.

She continued, “I’m so angry and I’m so disappointed in our world as a whole and how we treat survivors and how we just play it off as if it’s nothing.” At this point, she dropped the f-bomb. “It changes your entire f***ing life. I’m so furious that we aren’t doing something about it,” the actress vented.
The View hosts didn’t correct or admonish her for dropping the profanity. Sunny Hostin assured Valerie Bertinelli that the fight for survivors isn’t over yet.
Valerie Bertinelli Opens Up About Childhood Sexual Abuse For 1st Time
Valerie Bertinelli, 65, has lived most of her adult life in the spotlight. She’s been open about many aspects of her life. But she kept her experience of childhood sexual abuse to herself until now.
“I started trying to work through my traumas through the last 10 years, at least. I didn’t tell many people,” the actress said on The View. She shared more insight with PEOPLE magazine about why she’s speaking out now.
She said it wasn’t “so scary anymore. “I can say it out loud. I was sexually assaulted. It doesn’t feel like it owns me anymore,” she said.
If you or someone you know has been sexually assaulted, please contact the National Sexual Assault Hotline at 1-800-656-HOPE (4673) or go to rainn.org.
