The View is made up of conservative and liberal panelists who often exchange various opinions on the current state of the world. OG co-host and comedian Joy Behar does not care for the current administration and has not been shy about this. After Tuesday, February 24th’s State of the Union address, the ladies returned on Wednesday morning. They shared how they felt, and Joy was less than thrilled. Keep reading for more details.
Joy Behar’s Physical Reaction To SOTU Address
The State of the Union is not for everyone. It meant to share a status update on where America currently stands. Some people are very invested in watching the SOTU regardless of who the president is, while others need to turn away. The ladies of The View reluctantly tuned in and had a lot to say when they popped into the studio on Wednesday morning. Moderator Whoopi Goldberg had stated she would be watching Bob’s Burgers.
However, she noted that it did end, so that led into the State of the Union. As for Joy Behar, she had a lot of trouble stomaching President Donald Trump’s address. She noted that she did watch the whole thing, and it made her physically sick, not holding back one bit. Admittedly, some of the negative things he said hit far too close to home for Joy:
“I watched the whole thing, and I was physically ill from it — and more nauseous than usual, watching him. The way he was demonizing immigrants made me sick. We welcomed immigrants in this country. My family left Italy because there was no work in southern Italy, and they came here. That’s why I’m sitting here today. It made me feel really sad. That’s the reason America has been what it is.”

The View co-host also had a big problem with Vice President JD Vance and Speaker Mike Johnson. She felt that they cheered him on no matter what he said, and that added to her feeling off. Since Alyssa Farah Griffin is on maternity leave, a rotation of more conservative guests is filling in. Amanda Carpenter is sitting on the panel and feels that some of the liberal outbursts were uncalled for.
Clapping Back
After The View women shared their thoughts, Davis Ingle, the White House spokesperson, clapped back. He mocked the ladies and called them “extremely unlikeable, talentless hacks.” Moreover, he stated that they suffered from “Trump Derangement Syndrome.” Viewers thought that Joy Behar comparing VP Vance and Speaker Johnson to Bert and Ernie was hilarious. Furthermore, they appreciated the genuine commentary:
- Your so right Joy and I love the Bert and Ernie comment 😂😂😂
- I refused to watch …my heart & soul are just exhausted….lord help us 3 more years 🙌
Of course, some appreciated what the president had to say and disagreed with The View women. That has become commonplace, but it is what the show is all about.
