Many in the media have been discussing the recent release of millions of pages from the Epstein files. Recently, the story became a topic of discussion on The View. However, during the moment, Joy Behar was left asking one co-host a few questions following certain comments.
Three Million Pages Of The Epstein Files Were Released Back In Late January
The Epstein files are a collection of documents, videos, and images detailing the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein’s criminal activities. On January 30, 2026, at least three million pages were released by the Department of Justice, after a small number of files were released the previous month.
Since the release, the files have been discussed throughout various outlets, especially as various public figures have been named in the release. Recently, the ladies of The View discussed the release from their New York studio.
During the episode airing February 4, 2026, while discussing the latest batch of documents. Alyssa Farah Griffin called out the powerful figures who were named in the files and possibly protected each other from being exposed. Co-host Whoopi Goldberg noted that men weren’t the only ones protecting each other, but that women involved were also “complicit.”
Whoopi Goldberg Discussed The Importance Of Women ‘Standing Up’ On The View
This led Joy Behar to ask a simple question to Goldberg, “How?” Her co-host explained, “I’m gonna tell you how. Women didn’t say, ‘Hey, don’t do that. Don’t stand up for that.’ Women did not stand up for other women.”
Goldberg continued, “Women saw what was going on and didn’t say, ‘Stop this.’ They didn’t come out and say this was going on.”

Sunny Hostin then mentioned one woman in particular as a woman who didn’t protect other women: Epstein’s accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell. As noted by Buzzfeed, back in 2021, Maxwell was convicted of charges including sex trafficking of a minor. She is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence.
Behar had another simple question for Goldberg, “What do you mean ‘We’?” Goldberg responded to this, noting, “I mean women… Listen, for years, men had the ability, men thought that it was OK to treat women this way. We see it on television all the time. And until we stand up, until women stand up and say, never again, not anymore.”
Goldberg also shared praise for victims tied to the case who have since come forward with their stories. She continued, “They’re standing up where other women are not, and that’s the point here. Everybody has to take some responsibility for this.”
