Fans of The View have often seen the co-hosts discuss politics during the show’s famous “hot topics.” This has continued to be the case even when the show has had a few guest-hosts on the show. Recently, Whoopi Goldberg had a few comments concerning President Donald Trump during an important time. This also comes out as a recent guest co-host spoke about her time on the show.
One Co-Host Came To Trump’s Defense During A Recent Conversation On The View
Viewers have seen a number of different co-hosts come and go on The View. Currently, the official line-up is made up of Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin, and Ana Navarro.
At this time, Alyssa Farah Griffin is on maternity leave after she recently gave birth to a baby boy. Since then, a number of guest co-hosts have been announced to fill in for her on the show.
Recently, Savannah Chrisley of Chrisley Knows Best fame has joined the show as a brief guest host. During the February 19 episode, she previously made headlines after she disagreed with Sunny Hostin and Whoopi Goldberg over President Donald Trump.
Noting it was Black History Month, Goldberg claimed that the president was sending “mixed messages” in light of DEI initiatives. As Goldberg claimed, Trump struggled “to distinguish between black people and his idea of what DEI is.”
This was in reference to the 2025 executive order, “Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History,” which saw slavery displays be removed from Independence National Historical Park. This order was reversed by a judge on February 16.
Another Co-Host Recently Described What It Was Like Being On The Show
The co-hosts also talked about a now-deleted video posted on Trump’s Truth Social, which was reportedly shared by a White House staffer, in which former President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle Obama, were portrayed as primates. Trump had previously defended the post, claiming it was a reference to The Lion King.
For her part, Savannah Chrisley defended President Trump, saying she has seen his positive side personally and took issue with people calling him “racist.” She also highlighted Trump’s support of a longtime black employee.

Following Savannah’s time on the show, other figures will help fill in for Griffin on the show. Recently, “Squawk on the Street” anchor and CNBC broadcaster Sara Eisen spoke with Entertainment Weekly, talking about her time as a co-host. Describing the experience in a positive light, she called the opportunity a “treat,” noting that it gave her a chance to speak freely.
Eisen added, “I love how spontaneous it is and how authentic it is. And how we’re prepared and we’re read-in, but not scripted. It looks very perfect when you watch it on TV, but anything can happen out here.”
